[Bug 1636031] Re: gpg errors
I just install ubuntu desktop amd64, install all the tools to build a new image. create a new image template with ubuntu-defaults-template (empty, I don't do any customization). launch: ubuntu-defaults-image --package generatedtemplatepackage.deb --arch=amd64 and the process ends with the error above. I don't think I should generate a gpg key by myself, I never did it in the past ubuntu releases. [Bug 497804] Re: locale=ch support required for livecd
most of the things reported can be done only modifying gfxboot source code, AFAIK there's no make option to select the default keyboard layout neither to associate some languages (german) to some other keyboard layout (swiss). so for me this bug is a won't fix cause we're not going to generate gfxboot patches to allow some customizations. you could do something instead (using uck = 2.0.11): - download gfxboot-theme-ubuntu source - extract it in ~/tmp/gfxboot-theme-ubuntu - customize it - use uck this way gfxboot-theme-ubuntu won't be downloaded but uck will use your own copy. ** Changed in: uck Status: New = Won't Fix -- locale=ch support required for livecd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/497804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 292223] [NEW] migration-assistant dies with separate home partition
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity My partition schema -- * sda1 - 2GB - SWAP * sda2 - 10GB - root partition (with Ubuntu 8.04.1 installed) * sda3 - all the remaining space - /home Installation --- I start the Ubuntu installer, fill in all required data, tell the system that I want to format my sda2 partition and mount it as the root (”/”) and to mount my sda3 partition as /home (without formatting it). A few more clicks and the system was installing, time to take a coffee. Here comes a problem, I’m back from my coffee and I see no installer on my screen, it’s crashed! So I’m launching it again, retype my info but I can’t see my partitions anymore… Rebooting… Relaunching the installer, filling data and start the installation process, it’s about to finish when it crashes again, I take a look here and there in the logs and see that’s something about the migration assistant (actually I have nothing to migrate, I’m using my old home directory…). Rebooting again… I remember that’s possible to launch the installer disabling the migration assistant thus I open a terminal and type: sudo ubiquity --no-migration-assistant and do it all again, this time everything goes fine and I can boot my wonderful Intrepid from my disk. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- migration-assistant dies with separate home partition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292223 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 192598] Re: username format during login
but in windows you've a drop down menu with all the available domains, it took me 4-5 tries to find out how to write the username (domain\user, user+domain, [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc...) anyway there should be an order thus if the username is written without domain the system should try to authenticate agains every domain (and local system) until one authentication is successful average users won't understand how to write their usernames -- username format during login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192598 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 192593] Re: unable to change user password
maybe it's not the passwd command but i don't know what is lauched when the DC makes the password expire (in that case changing the password works). anyway when you type passwd the system says something like new NT password or something like that (i don't have the real output now) thus passwd detect that there's something about the AD -- unable to change user password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192593 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 192593] Re: unable to change user password
additional note: if I make a password expire from the DC, on the next login the user is prompted to change his password 'cause it's expired, and it works correctly. But it doesn't work when the user try changing it from shell. -- unable to change user password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192593 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 192593] [NEW] unable to change user password
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open once you joines an AD domain, users can authenticate correctly but they can't change their password with the passwd command (neither the kpass command works). [Bug 192594] [NEW] unplug - plug again network cable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open I tried to unplug the network cable and login, the system says no connection to DC, using cached credential and it works perfectly. But when I plug the cable again the system keeps saying that there's no connection to the DC also if I can ping it correctly. The problem still happens also after a reboot and I can't get the system to work again. ** Affects: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- unplug - plug again network cable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192594 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 192599] [NEW] GDM support for domain choice
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open this bug is tied to #192598, because it's really uncomfortable for users to type their username in the domain\user format, at least GDM should have support for a drop down domain choice or something like that (novell linux does that but maybe it uses kdm). ** Affects: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GDM support for domain choice https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192599 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 192597] [NEW] ntpdate suggestion
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open I think that the domainjoin command (both CLI and GUI) should tell you that it's better to setup ntpdate to sync time with the DC, and maybe do that automatically. If you don't do that and dates are not synched between the workstation and the DC, auth tickets won't work. ** Affects: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ntpdate suggestion https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
