[Bug 1872077] Re: package grub-efi-amd64-signed 1.140+2.04-1ubuntu24 failed to install/upgrade with mount: /var/lib/grub/esp: special device /, does not exist

2020-12-07 Thread Felipe Moreno
Nevermind, this solved my problem:

sudo apt-get purge grub\*
sudo apt-get install grub-efi
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo update-grub

I'm having this same issue with 1.142.9+2.04-1ubuntu26.7.

Setting up grub-efi-amd64-signed (1.142.9+2.04-1ubuntu26.7) ...
Installing grub to /boot/efi.

dpkg: error processing package grub-efi-amd64-signed (--configure):

The esp flag is set properly to the /boot/efi partition. Does this require a
new bug report?

[Bug 1881966] Re: Sporadic network disconnect and re-connect during wifi-scan after upgrading from Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04

2020-06-12 Thread Felipe Moreno
For troubleshooting, I have tried using a fixed BSSID, as proposed in
(https://blogs.gnome.org/dcbw/2016/05/16/networkmanager-and-wifi-
scans/), but the issue persists. While the BSSID is static, I still get
the sporadic disconnect, but there is no automatic re-connect. In fact,
there is no re-connect until I perform a manual wifi-scan, at which
point the network connection gets re-established.

I also tried disabling the NetworkManager as proposed here
(https://askubuntu.com/questions/230660/disabling-network-manager-gnome-
wireless-scanning-when-connected), but it did not help and just made the
desktop much buggier.

Please, let me know if there is any other information I should provide
to help resolve this bug. Thanks.

[Bug 1853075] Re: 19.10 Boots into a black screen

2019-11-22 Thread Felipe Moreno
Hey, I was able to find that the bug was fixed in v5.4-rc1. I haven't been able
to find the commit that fixes the issue though. Trying to run:
$ make -j`nproc` deb-pkg
Gives me the error: make: *** No rule to make target 'nproc'. Stop.

[Bug 1853075] Re: 19.10 Boots into a black screen

2019-11-18 Thread Felipe Moreno
** Description changed:

After upgrading to 19.10 and rebooting. My machine goes into a frozen
black screen. The default kernel after the update (5.3.0-23-generic)
does not succeed in booting. If I select the older kernel,
5.0.0-36-generic, grub does go through and succeeds booting up.

- System is a Dell XPS 15 9560 with Ubuntu Dual Boot. The Windows
- partition does work properly, and I am able to boot into it. Please
- advice on how to proceed with a fix, or if an update pushed to grub will
- fix this issue.
-
+ System is a Dell XPS 15 9560 with Ubuntu Dual Boot. GRUB version
+ 2.04-1ubuntu12. The Windows partition does work properly, and I am able
+ to boot into it. Please advice on how to proceed with a fix, or if an
+ update pushed to grub will fix this issue.

  Thanks.
