[Bug 556075] Re: [regression] 2.6.32-19 breaks edge-scrolling

2013-09-16 Thread Felix Zweig
I'm sorry, I don't own this particular laptop any more. But seeing that
linux-kernel-bugs #15893 has been fixed a long time ago, and Ubuntu
10.04 with Linux 2.6.32 isn't supported anymore, I don't see why this
should be an issue any longer.

[Bug 762167]

2012-01-09 Thread Felix Zweig
Thank you all for confirming this issue. However, the purpose of this
bug report is to include gtk2-engines-pixbuf in the dependencies and
it's already triaged. Thus, no further confirmation is necessary.

2011-09-26 Thread Felix Zweig
That's right, installing gtk2-engines-pixbuf resolves the warning
messages. That's why this bug aims for adding gtk2-engines-pixbuf as a
dependency in the light-themes package.

compizconfig-settings-manager is installed, but metacity is still being
used as window manager. However, I'm using a dedicated /home partition
with settings from 10.10, so this might not be the right behaviour.

[Bug 771847] [NEW] [regression?] No way to enable desktop effects in classic session

2011-04-27 Thread Felix Zweig
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Since Unity with Ubuntu 11.04, there's no way to enable desktop effects
w/o Unity. The tab in gnome-appearance-properties is missing, and
setting Compiz as window manager in GConf doesn't work either.

A workaround is adding compiz --replace as a startup application, but
it would be nice if we had an easier and more consistent option again.

[Bug 651013] [NEW] does not use GNOME clock

2010-09-29 Thread Felix Zweig
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: redshift

Redshift is supposed to use GNOME clock applet's location if it is set.

Redshift can automatically determine your current location from the GNOME
 clock
applet if you have configured your location there.

However, even if the location is set, redshift alerts:
$ redshift
Latitude and longitude must be set.
Try `-h' for more information.
Setting the location manually using -l LAT:LON does work though.

[Bug 638845] [NEW] No native controls

unetbootin depends on several Qt packages. Qt is able to use native GTK
controls in Qt-apps, however, unetbootin's control aren't native
whatsover, but look rather old-fashioned.

better:

[Bug 639894] [NEW] [regression] Touchpad doesn't work on every 2nd boot

2010-09-15 Thread Felix Zweig
Public bug reported:

After installing 2.6.35-21, the touchpad on my Acer Aspire One 532h only
works on every 2nd system start, meaning a can't move the cursor and use
the mouse buttons.

Relevant facts:
* The times it _doesn't_ work, there a Touchpad tab in gnome-mouse-properties
* Running sudo modprobe -r psmouse sudo modprobe psmouse proto=imps
reactivates the pad, but disables the Touchpad tab.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: pidgin

In opposition to Bug #353112, I suggest that we actually exit Pidgin if
the user closes the Buddy List using the window buttons. This is the
common behavior in most application; plus it's very hard to recognize
that Pidgin is still running by only the arrow in the indicator applet.

To me, it seems counter-intuitive to only hide an application without
any clear visual evidence that it's still running if the user actually
used the the close button and thus an exit metaphor.
