[Bug 381196] Re: network card/driver (sis190) doesn't notice when cable is unplugged
Andy, I tested your linux- image-2.6.28-14-generic_2.6.28-14.45~lp381196apw1_i386.deb and it works as expected. For me, this issue is solved. [Bug 381196] [NEW] network card/driver (sis190) doesn't notice when cable is unplugged
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 9.04. My dmesg shows that my ethernet card is: sis190 Gigabit Ethernet driver 1.2 When I disconnect my network cable, nothing happens. Network Manager still believe the cable is in, syslog shows no messages. If I reconnect the cable, again, nothing happens (not even syslog messages). But the network hangs. The only way to recover is to run: sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart Then, the nm-applet shows Wired - eth0 disconnected and after a while eth0 connected (or something like that). It may help... I hope someone can solve this... I booted my notebook with a Ubuntu 9.04 netbook usb drive (because the default live-CD doesn't work with my graphics card right-out-of-the- box). [Bug 381196] Re: network card/driver (sis190) doesn't notice when cable is unplugged
It seems there's a bug in some devices (LinkChange doesn't get updated) http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11926 I'm trying to recompile this kernel module. ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #11926 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11926 -- network card/driver (sis190) doesn't notice when cable is unplugged https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 381166] [NEW] beagle causes network manager applet not to start 'edit connections'
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: beagle I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope and using up-to-date packages. When I try to right-click the Network Manager applet in my panel and click on 'Edit Connections...' nothing happens. The window doesn't appear. In my syslog, there's this entry: May 28 01:20:32 lap kernel: [55849.795172] nm-connection-e[1502]: segfault at 10 ip b7be2a32 sp bffbe200 error 4 in libpolkit-gnome.so.0.0.0[b7bdf000+9000] Every time I try to click 'Edit Connections...' there's a new line like that in my syslog. In this bug report for Fedora ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456513 ) some guy mentioned to kill beagle and try again. I did that and managed to edit my connections through the network manager applet. I've installed beagle via Add/Remove Programs, so, nothing unusual. ** Affects: beagle (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- beagle causes network manager applet not to start 'edit connections' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381166 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
