[Bug 1174330] Re: Emacs fails to open window on Kubuntu 13.04

There is an alternative that kdm may be at fault. I don't know which project,
but
I guessed kubuntu-packaging is where inter-package testing should occur.

[Bug 1174330] [NEW] Emacs fails to open window on Kubuntu 13.04

2013-04-29 Thread GeorgeBeshers
Public bug reported:

So this is a new kubuntu 13.04 install -- I had an issue with the upgrade
procedure
and corrupted dpkg database.

[Bug 544728] Re: boot fails after installation on x86_64

2010-03-26 Thread GeorgeBeshers

Further investigation,

1st I removed the second (older) Nvidia card on the grounds to
eliminate that as a possible issue--but this did not directly solve
the problem.

I then upgraded the BIOS on my P6TD MB from what came w/
the MB to the most recent one from ASUS (501) and that has
solved the problem.

I have not tried re-installing the second graphics card to verify
that piece of the puzzle.

George

[Bug 544728] [NEW] boot fails after installation on x86_64

2010-03-22 Thread GeorgeBeshers
Public bug reported:

This is for Lucid beta1 and 3/22/10 nightly.

Existing x86_64 system with a dual GeForce GTX 295 graphics driver.
Two monitor's on the driver:
 - ViewSonic VX2000 @1600x1200 60Hz, and
 - Dell 3007w...@2560x1600 59.86 Hz

System installs and works find under Karmic. After I install Lucid beta1 (or
the nightly) I try to bring up the system and it hangs either in upstart or
the graphics driver.

I tried using chroot to 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and also install a few
additional packages with no luck.

I did not try to install the nvidia driver during installation---the only thing
special was tri-boot with a shared /boot and multiple / partitions for
different ubuntu versions. The last install I attempted I used a partition for
/
and the existing 2G /boot partition and left the major XFS filesystems

[Bug 311290] [NEW] konqueror crashed in nanosleep() attempting recovery

2008-12-24 Thread GeorgeBeshers
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: konqueror-kde4

This is kubuntu 8.10. The problem occurred after a messy shutdown because X
had hung and
I ended up rebooting. Konqueror noted that it needed to recover, but then
crashed in the process.
I was not able to reproduce the problem; I spent some time looking for
konqueror-dbg without
success and then tried invoking konqueror via gdb --- and of course then it
worked :(. So, the
stack trace is all I have.
