[Bug 228942] Re: Unable to remove folders which contains tab characters on a ftp server
Yes, the bug is still present with Ubuntu 8.10 and Nautilus 2.24.1 / gvfs 1.0.2-0ubuntu2, and it's easy to reproduce. If you have a ssh access to a server with a ftpd (Debian's proftpd 1.3.1-17 in my case), you can try these commands : mkdir " test1" <= with a space at the beginning mkdir -p "test2/.directory with a dot" <= with a dot at the beginning Now, connect you to the ftpd with nautilus and try to delete these two directories. You will obtain errors in both cases, while that worked well with gnome-vfs. -- Unable to remove folders which contains tab characters on a ftp server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 215412] Re: Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server
For the ftpd, I use ProFTPD 1.3.1-6+b1 from Debian testing. To verify it's not the same bug than #215517, I removed all the hyphens (with ssh) to obtain : Tokyo Café 21 Suzuka à Harajuku.avi Tokyo Café 22 Au carrousel du Louvre avec la mangaka Eiko Hanamura.avi Tokyo Café 23 Concert de Halcali à Paris.avi Tokyo Café 24 Les lieux de rendez vous au Japon.avi Tokyo Café 25 Histoire du chien fidèle Hachiko.avi Tokyo Café 26 Suzuka et Moon Kana au restaurant Monsieur Lapin.avi Tokyo Café 27 Au salon de l'agriculture.avi Tokyo Café 28 Les cris d'animaux en japonais.avi Tokyo Café 29 Shibuya Girls Collection au Japon.avi Tokyo Café 30 Duel entre deux cuisiniers.avi Now, in Nautilus, I can see three files : Tokyo Café 21 Suzuka à Harajuku.avi Tokyo Café 27 Au salon de l'agriculture.avi Tokyo Café 30 Duel entre deux cuisiniers.avi If I try to delete the directory, only these three files are deleted. -- Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 215517] Re: Impossible to name a directory with several spaces and hyphens
I use ProFTPD 1.3.1-6+b1 from Debian testing. I can create the directory with gvfs-mkdir "ftp://host/path/n1 n2 - n3 n4 - n5 n6" and I can see it with lftp or ssh, but not with nautilus. -- Impossible to name a directory with several spaces and hyphens https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215517 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 215517] [NEW] Impossible to name a directory with several spaces and hyphens
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus On a ftp server we cannot create directories named with blank and "-" (E.G. "n1 n2 - n3 n4 - n5 n6"). When we do it we have the following error "The item could not be renamed. There is no "untitled folder" in this folder. Perhaps it was just moved or deleted?". It appears as "untitled folder" while using Nautilus but when we check it out by using SSH or other ftp clients, the name of the folder is the one we chose. After a refresh, the directory disappears completely from the list. [Bug 215412] Re: Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server
After few tests, I think the problem came from files or directories with non-ascii characters : $ ls -1 "Tokyo Café"/ Tokyo Café - 21 - Suzuka à Harajuku.avi Tokyo Café - 22 - Au carrousel du Louvre avec la mangaka Eiko Hanamura.avi Tokyo Café - 23 - Concert de Halcali à Paris.avi Tokyo Café - 24 - Les lieux de rendez-vous au Japon.avi Tokyo Café - 25 - Histoire du chien fidèle Hachiko.avi Tokyo Café - 26 - Suzuka et Moon Kana au restaurant Monsieur Lapin.avi Tokyo Café - 27 - Au salon de l'agriculture.avi Tokyo Café - 28 - Les cris d'animaux en japonais.avi Tokyo Café - 29 - Shibuya Girls Collection au Japon.avi Tokyo Café - 30 - Duel entre deux cuisiniers.avi Another problem, we can see these files from a ssh session, but for nautilus, the directory is empty (0 element). -- Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
