2012-10-20 Thread Georges Seguin
Finally, although it is much less obvious, the problem persists with
metacity.

[Bug 1067432] Re: High CPU usage and lag

2012-10-19 Thread Georges Seguin
I've the same problem with this configuration :

* gnome-shell 3.6.1-0ubuntu1
* mutter 3.6.1-0ubuntu1
* NVIDIA Corporation GT216 [GeForce GT 220]
* Drivers 304.51.really.304.43-0ubuntu1

I have not tested the beta drivers, but the problem disappeared when I
replaced my window manager by metacity.

It's a good thing to have the latest version in Lucid, but for now, it
would be better to have a backport in Karmic...

[Bug 519317] [NEW] Cannot import photos from newer cameras with this old version

2010-02-09 Thread Georges Seguin
Public bug reported:

Since the 2.4.6 version shipped in Karmic, all these cameras are now
supported (my Canon 7D is in this list...)

* Apple iPod Touch first generation
* Canon Digital IXUS 95 IS
* Canon Digital IXUS 100IS
* Canon Digital IXUS 110IS
* Canon EOS 7D
* Canon EOS 500D
* Canon PowerShot A580
* Canon PowerShot SD770 IS
* Canon PowerShot SD1200
* Canon Powershot SX200 IS
* Canon A1100 IS
* Canon SD780 IS
* Canon SD940 IS
* Canon G11
* Canon IXY 220 IS
* Fuji Finepix F200 EXR
* Fuji S5 Pro
* Kodak M863
* Kodak Z915
* Nikon CoolPix S220
* Nikon CoolPix S225
* Nikon DSLR D300s
* Nikon DSLR D3000
* Nikon DSLR D5000
* Sea & Sea 2G

Because gphoto is in userspace and not in the kernel, I don't see what problems
could cause such an update. In the same time, many owners of new cameras will
be happy to use it... (sorry for my really poor english).

[Bug 228942] Re: Unable to remove folders which contains tab characters on a ftp server

2009-02-16 Thread Georges Seguin
Yes, the bug is still present with Ubuntu 8.10 and Nautilus 2.24.1 /
gvfs 1.0.2-0ubuntu2, and it's easy to reproduce. If you have a ssh
access to a server with a ftpd (Debian's proftpd 1.3.1-17 in my case),
you can try these commands :

mkdir " test1" <= with a space at the beginning
mkdir -p "test2/.directory with a dot" <= with a dot at the beginning

Now, connect you to the ftpd with nautilus and try to delete these two
directories. You will obtain errors in both cases, while that worked
well with gnome-vfs.

[Bug 214886] Re: Too many levels of symbolic links

2008-05-21 Thread Georges Seguin
You are right. The upgrade from Gutsy seems to have a problem and I've
to apt-get --remove purge pidgin pidgin-data and reinstall them after
that to fix the problem.

Nothing related to my previous problem, but I find somewhat strange that
Nautilus checks for VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, SVCD, VCD, BDAV... directories
while connected on a FTP server.

[Bug 218735] [NEW] Nautilus ignores password when connecting to ftp://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

2008-04-17 Thread Georges Seguin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When trying to access to a ftp server troughout nautilus (by using the
username, password and server adress), the password isnt taken into
account and Nautilus asks about it, and even there, when trying to enter
the right password, nautilus keep asking for it again and again. The
solution is to adress the ftp by the syntax "ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
(without password) and then the password request is finally accepted

[Bug 153572] Re: Merge 2.10.8-1 from debian unstable

2008-04-14 Thread Georges Seguin
Can you contact the release management team to see whether they can
regard it as an exceptional circumstance ?

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureFreeze :

# is a reasonable fix for an important bug,
# other exceptional circumstances, as judged by the release managers.

[Bug 153572] Re: Merge 2.10.8-1 from debian unstable

2008-04-14 Thread Georges Seguin
2.10.7 and 2.10.8 are only bugfix releases (eight bugs which can make
the application crash and a lot of other annoying bugs). So, why don't
we already have this version (released on January 1, 2008...) in Hardy ?

[Bug 215412] Re: Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server

Nautilus does nothing. It does not crash, the files are still here, and
we have only this error :

Error while deleting.

Couldn't remove the folder Tokyo Café.
Directory not empty

[Bug 215412] Re: Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server

2008-04-12 Thread Georges Seguin
For the ftpd, I use ProFTPD 1.3.1-6+b1 from Debian testing.

To verify it's not the same bug than #215517, I removed all the hyphens
(with ssh) to obtain :

Now, in Nautilus, I can see three files :

Tokyo Café 21 Suzuka à Harajuku.avi
Tokyo Café 27 Au salon de l'agriculture.avi
Tokyo Café 30 Duel entre deux cuisiniers.avi

If I try to delete the directory, only these three files are deleted.

I use ProFTPD 1.3.1-6+b1 from Debian testing.

I can create the directory with gvfs-mkdir "ftp://host/path/n1 n2 - n3
n4 - n5 n6" and I can see it with lftp or ssh, but not with nautilus.

[Bug 215517] [NEW] Impossible to name a directory with several spaces and hyphens

2008-04-10 Thread Georges Seguin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

On a ftp server we cannot create directories named with blank and "-"
(E.G. "n1 n2 - n3 n4 - n5 n6"). When we do it we have the following
error "The item could not be renamed. There is no "untitled folder" in
this folder. Perhaps it was just moved or deleted?". It appears as
"untitled folder" while using Nautilus but when we check it out by using
SSH or other ftp clients, the name of the folder is the one we chose.
After a refresh, the directory disappears completely from the list.

[Bug 215412] Re: Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server

2008-04-10 Thread Georges Seguin
After few tests, I think the problem came from files or directories with
non-ascii characters :

$ ls -1 "Tokyo Café"/

Another problem, we can see these files from a ssh session, but for
nautilus, the directory is empty (0 element).

[Bug 215412] [NEW] Couldn't remove non-empty folders on a ftp server

2008-04-10 Thread Georges Seguin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

It was ok with old Nautilus 2.20 and gnome-vfs, but now, with Nautilus
2.22 ans gvfs 0.2.3 we cannot remove non-empty folders on a ftp server.
For me, this is a big regression.
