[Bug 1964426] [NEW] Wrong path reported in /proc/self/maps with overlayfs

2022-03-09 Thread Luis Héctor Chávez
Public bug reported:

When a program is running in an overlayfs, /proc/self/maps reports the
wrong path. Notably, it lacks a prefix equal to the mountpoint of the
overlayfs. This only happens on linux-gcp-5.13, it does not reproduce on
non-gcp kernels.

Small repro:

cat > repro.sh <
 LANG=C.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash

[Bug 1902589] [NEW] (Enhancement Request) LibreOffice not available as snap package for ARM devices

2020-11-02 Thread Héctor Gómez Picallos
Public bug reported:

(Enhancement Request) Although Ubuntu Server on an ARM device (such a
Raspberry Pi) can benefit from the LibreOffice package via the official
repositories, there is no option to have it installed as a snap package
via snapd, as only the amd64 arch is currently supported. This affects
Ubuntu Core especially, as system installations heavily rely on snap
packages.

[Bug 770051] [NEW] Bad translation to Spanish visible in tree at left

2011-04-24 Thread Héctor M . Monacci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: shotwell

Left panel of Shotwell lists dates, aka events, inside folders. For each
date, in the Spanish language version of Shotwell, a nonsense pseudo
Spanish phrase says, e.g., "abr 14 de jue de 2011". This should read
"jue 14 de abr de 2011". This happens for every date, in every folder,
in the left panel os Shotwell in Spanish.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and Shotwell 0.7.2-0ubuntu2, both in Spanish.

Asunto: [Bug 667138] Re: System freeze on resume from suspend/hibernate when on
battery

This could be a duplicate of bug 663784; there's a workaround described
there. I think the common factor might be the r8187se module. Could you
please try the workaround and report if it works for you?

[Bug 528950] Re: Problem with quadrapassel in Lucid.

2010-05-04 Thread Héctor Ricardo
Trying to play quadrapassel in Ubuntu Lucid AMD64, screen was blocked. I
resolved this problem changing screen resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels
and then changing resolution to the max value.

[Bug 162057] Re: [upstream] Cannot save Word document with password

2009-11-07 Thread Héctor M . Monacci
No alternative approach is good enough if you need to exchange password-
protected Word documents with colleagues. This bug *must* be solved in
order to keep OpenOffice growing. In my situation, only workaround is
wine/Word.

[Bug 236777] Re: Swiss German keyboard layout broken since Feisty

2008-06-03 Thread Héctor
Hi,

Actually whatever keyboard layout I chose I had always the exact same
behavior, but I until your post I realized that my "Tastaturmodell" got
changed. I just selected the right one and all of the sudden everything
is working fine.

Please disregard this as a bug and set it to "User stupidity". Really
embarrassing.

Thanks for your help

[Bug 236777] Re: Swiss German keyboard layout broken since Feisty

2008-06-02 Thread Héctor
No, it's not a problem that goes away if I choose another keyboard
layout. I've been using the same keyboard layout since Feisty, and in
Feisty it worked properly. Then when I did the upgrade to Gutsy it
stopped working and no matter what keyboard layout I choose, the
behavior is the same. Then I upgraded to Hardy hoping that the problem
went away, but it persists, that's why I am now reporting it.

Basically, as far as I am concerned, there are 3 keys that are not
working as expected and which I need pretty often. Those keys are the
ones described in my previous post.

What I am trying to do is to get the following letters:

ï
ñ
á or ó

but instead I am getting

¨i
~n
´a or ´o

which is not what I want. For example, for the "ñ" letter, what I used
to do (and this is what I do in any Winbugs system) I pressed at the
same time "Alt Gr" and "^" (the key next to the backspace), released and
then pressed "n" and I used to get "ñ", but ever since I'm getting "~n".
It is also the case for the other keys I'm referring to.

For the "ó" letter I pressed at the same time "Alt Gr" and "'" (the
second key to the left of the backspace), released and then pressed "o".

For the "ï" letter I pressed at the same time "Alt Gr" and "¨" (the key
below the backspace) and then "i"

I don't know what further details I can provide but I'll be glad to
help.

Thanks for your time

[Bug 236777] [NEW] Swiss German keyboard layout broken since Feisty

2008-06-02 Thread Héctor
Public bug reported:

Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04

The keyboard layout for Gutsy and Hardy doesn't behave like it did in
Feisty. For example, in Feisty, in order to get the " ñ " letter, I used
to do { [ Right-Alt + ^ ] + n }, but since Gutsy it doesn't work this
way anymore. Now, if I press the same keys combination I get " ~n "
which is not what I want.

Additionally, before I pressed { [ Right-Alt + ' ] + a } in order to get
an " á ", but now I'm getting " ´a " instead.

Also, if I press { [ ¨ ] + i } I get " ¨i ", but I expected an " ï "
instead.

I've noticed this behaviour after doing and update from Feisty to Gutsy,
and then from Gutsy to Hardy. As keyboard layout, using "Switzerland
German, eliminate dead keys". Entry from xorg.conf

Section "InputDevice"
 Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
 Driver "kbd"
 Option "CoreKeyboard"
 Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
 Option "XkbModel""pc105"
 Option "XkbLayout" "ch"
 Option "XkbVariant" "de_nodeadkeys"
EndSection

Thanks

[Bug 41301] Re: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically

Bug is gone for me, no buggy focus/mouse anymore.
It seems the last kernel update solved the problem.
No boot options required.

[Bug 41301] Re: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically

2007-05-04 Thread Héctor
I tried that boot option "noapic acpi=off"
It seems to solve the problem, but now I can only switch windows by clicking on
their titlebars.
At least I can use my mouse btw.

[Bug 41301] Re: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically

2007-04-22 Thread Héctor
Same problem here (edgy, feisty)
Ctrl Alt F1 -> Ctrl Alt F7 makes mouse buttons to work with the current window
(1 time).
Very annoying.
The only solution I found is rebooting the system to get it working for a while.
Can't test xev, since I can't focus the window. The window behind xev test
window won't lose the focus. (Alt tab not helping)

Bug Importance rated medium??
I'd rate it critical.
