[Bug 1801561] [NEW] virtualbox does not see VDI files for importing

2018-11-03 Thread Herminio
Public bug reported:

I P2V 2 windows workstations then took the VHDX files and converted them
to VDI using VBoxManage clonehd command. The VDI files were not
recognized by virtualbox. The could not been on a USB drive, NFS share,
or even on the home directory of the Ubuntu machine. I take the same VDI
files are appear fine on my Antergos installation of virtualbox (version
5.2.20). I have tried on 2 new installs of Ubuntu 18.04 with the same
result.

[Bug 1799287] [NEW] usbmud service will not load on boot

2018-10-22 Thread Herminio
Public bug reported:

I use usbmux for my iphone so I can access my photos via shotwell and
move files around. I have to start the service manually via systemd.
When I try to enable I get the following.

hhernandez@hhernandez-Precision-M4800:~$ sudo systemctl enable usbmuxd
[sudo] password for hhernandez:
The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy, RequiredBy, Also, Alias
settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance for template units).
This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl.
Possible reasons for having this kind of units are:
1) A unit may be statically enabled by being symlinked from another unit's
   .wants/ or .requires/ directory.
2) A unit's purpose may be to act as a helper for some other unit which has
   a requirement dependency on it.
3) A unit may be started when needed via activation (socket, path, timer,
D-Bus, udev, scripted systemctl call, ...).
4) In case of template units, the unit is meant to be enabled with some
   instance name specified.

I do not believe yaboot has in active development in a long time
upstream. The last set of commits were in 2008 see:
https://github.com/pnasrat/yaboot/commits/master

I think we are just stuck with make a separate ext2 /boot partition.

No one ever placed a bug report in Gentoo it was only discussed in the

a bug report there.

[Bug 1461303] [NEW] hardware accleration freezes PowerMac G4 with KMS enabled

2015-06-02 Thread Herminio
Public bug reported:

Whenever I try to enable KMS using these parameters radeon.modeset=1
video=offb:off video=radeonfb:off radeon.agpmode=-1 My machine freezes.
I have not had this issue with iBook or my PowerBook. However if I turn
off hardware acceleration in Xorg: Option NoAccel False. Then KMS is
enabled but I am in Software Rasterizer. You hardware accleration to
have XVid working or you are forced to X11 for video playback. There any
way to get hardware acceleration working on this video card?

Christian could you post your dmseg and kenel logs before you made you
work around? It would be interesting to see if we are having the same
type of errors.
