[Bug 1578096] Re: Unable to launch jobs-admin
@ggallozz, this project has been unmaintained for about 7 years -- it's going to need a lot of work to make it compatible with today's init systems. At this point I'd be surprised if there wasn't something much better around for systemd. You're welcome to hack on it if you want: https://github.com/jpeddicord/jobs-admin https://github.com/jpeddicord/jobservice I'm surprised these packages have survived in the repositories this long -- they can (and should) be removed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578096 Title: Unable to launch jobs-admin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jobs-admin/+bug/1578096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1111853] [NEW] Smooth (per-pixel) scrolling unavailable on X230 touchpad
Public bug reported: This is the same hardware as in #1042069, but is a different issue. Two-finger and edge scrolling work correctly in both horizontal and vertical directions. However, there doesn't appear to be any smooth/pixel scrolling: scrolling actions still register as clicks of the mouse wheel and there don't appear to be any smooth-scrolling axes. It should be noted that I'm using the workaround in comment #5 in the above bug (copied below), but smooth scrolling is not present without the configuration either. It may just be a detection issue: I haven't booted Windows on this laptop since I purchased it, but per-pixel scrolling did work there, and it worked on my previous laptop with a Synaptics touchpad. [Bug 1099218] Re: Banshee does not start, only shows greyed out window
Just tried launching Banshee in a guest session. It opens successfully and will play audio. I then started to try out extensions, the Karaoke extension will cause Banshee to freeze right there, and will no longer launch. So, I went back to my main session, opened ~/.config/banshee-1 /addin-db-001/config.xml, and disabled the Karaoke extension. Sure enough, Banshee now launches and works just fine. [Bug 916941] Re: tmux no longer passes mouse input through
A small workaround I've discovered: It appears tmux *does* pass mouse input through if you coerce it a bit. Currently, if I have set ttymouse=xterm2 in my vimrc, tmux will not recognize it for whatever reason. But, if I delay this by using autocmd BufEnter * set ttymouse=xterm2, so that it is only executed when entering a buffer, tmux will see it and merrily pass input on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/916941 Title: tmux no longer passes mouse input through To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tmux/+bug/916941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 916941] Re: tmux no longer passes mouse input through
(Argh, forgot to add this to my last comment.) With mode-mouse on, tmux does scroll and let you click your status line (if set), but it eats all mouse input instead of passing it through to the active application. Tested with vim and less. Strangely enough, htop inside tmux works fine. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the packaging, as this worked in 1.5-1 (oneiric), but doesn't in 1.5-3 (precise). [Bug 941229] [NEW] deadlock: GStreamer-WARNING **: wrong STREAM_LOCK count 0
Public bug reported: Banshee and Totem both suffer from a very annoying bug where they will lock up when trying to interact with them while media is playing. It's hard to describe, but here are the main points: * When the application locks up, GStreamer-WARNING **: wrong STREAM_LOCK count 0 is output. * I have tested this with quite a diverse MP3 library. * This happens **most frequently** using gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3. * This happens less frequently when using lame/mad from gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly. * I am unable to reproduce this issue with OGG/Vorbis audio. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3, as it is easiest to trigger the bug (works with gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly as well, just not as often). 2. Open any MP3 in Totem from the terminal. 3. Seek madly for 5-10 seconds or until it freezes. (Sometimes the freeze is instantaneous, sometimes it takes a few seconds of trying.) 4. Observe the GStreamer warning message and deadlock. This has been *very* difficult to pin down, as it happens seemingly at random. I'm attaching a backtrace of Totem's state during the freeze. Some points of note: * The GStreamer-CRITICAL message is unrelated to the freezing from what I can tell, as it doesn't show up during other traces I've done. * ^C is where it froze. * #10 is libgstflump3dec.so -- could not find debugging symbols for this, but as it happens with the other MP3 decoders as well, I don't think the problem lies in the MP3 plugins themselves. Something I've noticed while testing this: it appears to freeze more often around when threads are created/destroyed. Let me know if there's any more information I can provide. [Bug 919809] [NEW] [CMI8788] Xonar DG: no front panel support
Public bug reported: Running precise, though I don't recall this working in oneiric either. None of the front panel outputs/inputs on the Xonar DG are detected at all. They are hooked up, as it works fine on Windows. Plugging in headphones doesn't switch the output, and a microphone on the front is not detected. In sound preferences and pavucontrol, the card is listed as having three connectors: Analog Output / Speaker (works), Analog Output / Headphones 1, and Analog Output / Headphones 2. Changing the selected connector has no effect, and reverts back to Speaker when the settings view is reloaded. Additionally, setting via pacmd results in failed to set sink port.[1] Interestingly enough, alsamixer has an Analog Output selector with different outputs than reported by PulseAudio. These are Speakers, Headphones, and FP Headphones. Switching between these produces an audible click from the sound card (normal, it's in the switching circuit) so it's definitely communicating with the card. However, the front panel audio still does not work. Both Speakers and FP Headphones play out of the speakers, while Headphones outputs nothing at all. Interestingly, alsamixer has no volume sliders for output, but that's a separate issue. (The output sliders do work in PulseAudio, so that's good enough for now.) [Bug 844193] Re: Screen won't turn back on after being turned off due to inactivity (System Settings - Screen)
I still notice the issue here, on a fully-updated HP Mini 110. Letting the screen turn off by itself seems to be what triggers it; it will turn back on from standby just fine. It also seems to go out if you plug in an external display and try to switch screens. Additionally, I think that it may just be the backlight: if you hold a light up to the screen, you can see a faint image of your desktop. My current solution is to put the netbook in standby and bring it back again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844193 Title: Screen won't turn back on after being turned off due to inactivity (System Settings - Screen) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/844193/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

There's a patch over on gnome bugzilla 600072 that appears to work. The bug there is different, but it fixes this as a side-effect. Don't have any solid logs to prove this since the patch is missing debug calls, but I can definitely notice a difference when between tracks that have/don't have replaygain data. I've removed added replaygain to tracks and have noticed volume differences, so it's definitely working. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #600072 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600072 ** Also affects: banshee via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600072 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- ReplayGain only works for the first Song https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377354 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 400954] Re: No sound comes for any file, while the files play well in VLC
Check the volume indicator (speaker icon/button) on the lower-right of Totem. Is it muted? Totem sometimes will start with the sound level at 0. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in totem. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. [Bug 418394] [NEW] 3D applications stutter / don't appear to sync with the screen on .31 kernel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel On karmic with an i945: OpenGL applications and games stutter in a strange way. I'll see a few frames at full motion, and then a very short pause. A few more full frames, then another pause. Repeat. This happens two to three times a second. However, none of these applications notice any framerate drops. Glxgears reports it is blitting at 4500 frames every 5 seconds, but taking into account the stuttering there is likely a lot less actually being displayed. Nexuiz is claiming a solid 30 to 40 FPS, though it also exhibits this strange behavior. Compositors do not appear to be affected. I have no issue with the 2.6.30 kernel series from earlier Karmic packages. Everything runs at full speed without any issue. (To that point, I'm not sure if this should be reported against the kernel. Or mesa.) This issue persists: - with and without compositing - with and without KMS - with and without forced vsync in driconf This *might* be related to bug 416073, however the issues described there are about lower framerates overall, so I'm doubtful this is a duplicate.
