[Bug 1547448] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Notifications of some apps displayed in a classic window

2016-06-27 Thread Jeroen de Jong
I get these popups whenever an email arrives, even if I haven't started
Thunderbird yet. This is quite annoying, since I sometimes have to close
10 or more dialogs ...

[Bug 1206820] [NEW] Tooltips of Java Swing applications do not appear on my second screen

2013-07-31 Thread Jeroen de Jong
Public bug reported:

I have a second screen attached to my laptop. When I open a Java Swing
application (like jedit) on this second screen then no tooltips appear
when I move my mouse over the icons. The tooltips do appear when I move
my application to the primary screen (my laptop screen). I tried also to
make my attached screen the primary screen, using the NVIDIA settings
manager. But this did not help. I think this bug was introduced with the
latest Compiz update in Ubuntu 13.04.

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1156919] Re: Compiz does not place Java windows correctly

2013-07-16 Thread Jeroen de Jong
I have the same problem: The main window of my Java application is
placed fine according to the Compiz rules, but every new window is place
so far right that only part of the left border is still visible. It took
me half an hour to find this window, since this border is hardly
visible.

I tried to uncheck the Workaround in the Compiz - Window Placement -
General tab, but that did not change anything. I also tried to force the
placement of these windows to a fixed position by providing the window
class. This did not have any effect either. Also, to me it looks like
Compiz completely ignores the windows created by my Java application.

[Bug 990318] Re: Touchpad not working on Dell Latitude e6420

2012-06-16 Thread Jeroen de Jong
It seems that this problem is not fixed. I just upgraded ubuntu to 12.04
on my dell latititude E6 and my touchpad does not work after logging in.
I do see the ALPS configuration tab in gpointing-device-settings, but
changing any settings does not help.

[Bug 876721] Re: java swing JTable repaint issue with nvidia graphics

2012-01-10 Thread Jeroen de Jong
I have had the same problem and found the following solution: I enabled
OpenGL in Java2D by passing the following command line option when
starting my Java program:

-Dsun.java2d.opengl=True

Now the scrolling goes faster and the text is no longer garbled.
