din99, thanks for your willingness to help resolving this bugs, but your assessment is incorrect, please read the previous comments before adding your own to a bug report, many of the reports for this bug just as for bug 439448 are from people with a single home, single release configuration. There maybe issues resulting from running multiple releases with a shared home, that is related to how different application versions manage their data/settings, such issues (which seems to be your case) are not related to the bugs being reported. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574296 Title: Gnome theme not applied on session start -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 439448] Re: visual corruption affecting several panel applets
Manuel, I am going to add an extra irrelevant comment because I really believe the comments for this bug turned into a hardly useful posting of random experiences. Please do not bring bug managements problems that you may have experienced on other bugs to this one. This bug clearly affects a lot of people, there is a proper function to report, which is Affects me. Redundant and poor information is worse than no information, because it leads people to consume significant time reading the comments, without any comments they can use that time to troublehsoot and post useful info. This is not an issue of different ideas, this is really a matter of understanding if your post will provide any value to the bug analysis. [Bug 524190] Re: [needs-packaging] WebcamStudio For GNU/Linux
Pereki87, I suggest you to read: http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct Be respectful. The Ubuntu community and its members treat one another with respect. Everyone can make a valuable contribution to Ubuntu. We may not always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. [Bug 507881] Re: Plymouth doesn't show messages sent before the splash screen is visible
Jeremy, the plymouth-and-mountall-don't-report-any-error-messages symptom which lead to this bug report is not related to the one you are describing, on the bug case from this report there was no message sent to the user at all. I mean not even reporting a general mount failure. squiddy, bugs are not the proper replace to request support, specially with issues which are not related with the bug being reported. [Bug 530179] Re: [lucid] vboxsf mounts defined on /etc/fstab cause errors on boot
Sensiva, you report relates 2 different problems. The fact that there was an error and the filesystem was not mounted is the one being addressed on this bug report, the fix requires a change to the virtualbox-ose package. The fact that the boot stopped *even in recovery mode*, is related to bug 507881, if you are concerned with that behavior please subscribe it. [Bug 530179] Re: [lucid] vboxsf mounts defined on /etc/fstab cause errors on boot
Sensiva, the fact that the error was not shown is related to the bug Scott was setting the duplicate to. I am re-opening the bug for the aspect that the filesystem is not mounted and causing an error instead. Scott, The mount.vboxfs is provided by the virtualbox-guest-additions package. The issue here is that the vboxsf file system type depends on the module vboxfs kernel module which is only loaded later from /etc/init.d /virtualbox-ose-guest-utils . Sensiva, a workaround is to mount the filesystem from /etc/rc.local using: sudo mount -t vboxsf share mountpoint I have kept the bug open for mountall just to track the feedback on how should this modular filesystems should be handed from a mountall perspective. -- [lucid] vboxsf mounts defined on /etc/fstab cause errors on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I will attempt to provide a patch to replace the current /etc/init.d/virtualbox-ose-guest-utils with an upstart job. According to Scott's feedback the start should be something like: start on starting mountall task exec modprobe vboxsf -- [lucid] vboxsf mounts defined on /etc/fstab cause errors on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
