[Bug 448765] [NEW] [Dell Inc. MM061] suspend/resume failure
Public bug reported: I did: sudo apt-get dist-upgrade; pmi action suspend. That seems to have gone fine; the box was sleeping when I came back. So I woke it up and it woke up fine and then told me that it needed to be rebooted. So I clicked on the reboot button and it tried to reboot but hung while trying. So I turned it off hard by pressing and holding the power button. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly. [Bug 424793] Re: aptd crashed with error in connect()
The situation is somewhat strange. /etc/init.d/rsyslog and /etc/init.d/sysklogd both exist, but dpkg -l lists the corresponding packages as rc in the first two columns. I am happy to help debugging/testing this. Should I install one of the packages manually to see whether that makes the crash go away? Or should I do nothing to see whether the packaging infrastructure will automatically do the right thing? (It's not clear to me whether I caused this situation myself. If so then I can't expect the packaging infrastructure to fix it obviously.) I installed slapd manually, and it seems to have an (indirect) dependency on syslog. I don't recall any other recent action that might have an influence on this. -- aptd crashed with error in connect() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 317921] Re: pulseaudio error 1 upgrading pulseaudio_0.9.13-2ubuntu6_i386.deb
I can also confirm that it works to edit /etc/default/pulseaudio to set PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START to 0. After that, it asked me about this very file (updated version of config file in package, current version modified locally). I told it to use the version of the file from the new package, which also contains PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START=0. I then read the comment in the file and figured that since this is the recommended way to use it, I'll just follow. So it is still zero. I'll report back if there are any problems in the future. -- pulseaudio error 1 upgrading pulseaudio_0.9.13-2ubuntu6_i386.deb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317921 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 321286] [NEW] Superfluous escaping when completing a variable name after cd

[Bug 254492] Re: kvm guests randomly freeze when using SMP, start again when key pressed in vnc console
Using 8.04 as both host and guest, kvm-62. Experiencing what we believe to be the same problem. We run kvm with -nographic, with a serial console in screen. Observation: guest continues to run normally, but there is no network connectivity. (The OP did not specify whether this was the case.) Since we do not have a VNC console, we cannot press a key in it to wake the guest up. Further observation: Pinging guest from host results in all packets being dropped. If we do ifconfig eth0 down in the guest, then the same ping results in Destination host unreachable. If we then to ifconfig eth0 up then all packets are again dropped. Happens to us after the guest has been running after some hours (6-12?). At the time it was running unattended as a server, so no config changes were taking place when we lost connectivity. With a single CPU in the guest, the problem does not occur. -- kvm guests randomly freeze when using SMP, start again when key pressed in vnc console https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 279837] Re: thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV on restart after installing mnenhy extension
After reporting this bug, I switched to a Thunderbird 3 alpha/beta release that I downloaded from mozilla.org directly. So I tried to run the Ubuntu package again, and the result is that I *cannot* reproduce the bug anymore. (Mnenhy was installed and active.) So I guess this bug can be closed, but I couldn't find a button to do it myself. -- thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV on restart after installing mnenhy extension https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
