[Bug 1087071] Re: Transmission uses 100% CPU when downloading any file to a encrypted home
I can confirm the same behaviour. Ubuntu 12.10, Transmission 2.61 (13407). Downloading a torrent to a location inside an encrypted home directory causes constant, massive CPU utilization - bringing the entire system almost to a halt. The problem is completely mitigated (doing the same downloads) by moving the download destination to a directory outside your encrypted home. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1087071 Title: Transmission uses 100% CPU when downloading any file to a encrypted home To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ecryptfs-utils/+bug/1087071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 927515] Re: Thunderbird stuck at 100% CPU
I can confirm the same behavior on Ubuntu 12.10, with encrypted home directory, running Thunderbird 17.05. Thunderbird constantly using 50-100% cpu, for hours at a time, only occasionally dropping below 50%. Creating new profiles, deleting various sqlite files, index files, etc does not fix the problem. However - since others have ointed out that this seems to be eCryptFS related - I can confirm that moving my thunderbird profile to an unencrypted directory outside of my home directory seems to solve or at least greatly reduce the severity of the problem. If you are able to (given the security implications), I would recommend others to try this workaround. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/927515 Title: Thunderbird stuck at 100% CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-consumption/+bug/927515/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

his same bug affects me too. I run ubuntu 10.04 and cannot use update- manager or synaptic package manager. Also, these two prorams ask for and reject my pass word. [Bug 501971] Re: After shutdown, and after re-login, amarok lost its voice, there is no audio.
amarok works, and works beautifully. However, it is prone to have segmentation faults which happen at intermittent times. One thing I noticed is that the backtraces are no good and cant be used in reporting the problems to higher headquarters for their perusal and resolution. Because I basically know the problem I face with amarok ( code 11 segmentation faults ) and because it is a joy listening to the music on amarok, I move to close this file. However, the KDE amarok team should know amarok is very prone to segmentation faults ( I get about 8 a day on average ). -- After shutdown, and after re-login, amarok lost its voice, there is no audio. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501971 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
