[Bug 657990] Re: System freeze when i'am not moving the mouse or typing.
I want to confirm that the bug still exist for the TOSHIBA NB200. I tried with Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 but i could work.. it was freezing even if I had the option quiet splash nohz=off for the grub (this option worked with older versions of kernel) Then I tried lubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 but it was the same Now I am runing Debian: uname -a: Linux dhcppc4 3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.63-2+deb7u2 i686 GNU/Linux I tried setting GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash nolapic_timer clocksource=jiffies but the first core of my system is always at 100% usage just as Romain refered before and it is not fixed. I turned it back to quiet to protect the cpu I would like to know if my cpu is safe at 100 usage so that if i use the above settings for the kernel I will not afraid for system damage -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/657990 Title: System freeze when i'am not moving the mouse or typing. [Bug 1251928] Re: pulseaudio guvcview and logitech webcam (c310) cannot set freq
Hi Christopher, I was with a friend that i have help to install ubuntu 12.04 skype and guvcview... He has a fresh install, and a microsoft camera... When he boots, he has exactly the same problem, (because i installed everything to his pc). So, i just opened a terminal to see the commands i have give after the installation. One of them, is: sudo apt-add repository deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner... in my fresh installs that have not that repository, i have not the problem... in the ones i have give it i have the problem... So its a bug of canonical, or a misteke during my upgrade (that kept the old lsb_release)... I mark it as invalid, because the problem has to do with canoniocal or my mistakes... ** Changed in: linux-lts-raring (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251928 Title: pulseaudio guvcview and logitech webcam (c310) cannot set freq To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-raring/+bug/1251928/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Christopher, I installed nvidia drivers to my test partition's 13.10 and still has no the problem there, So i suppose the error has nothing to do with nvidia... I don't now the deferences between these two installs, but as i can rmember the old 13.10 was an upgraded 13.04, so we may have to look to the possible deferences of the packages... Hi Christopher, sorry for the delay, but i was realy busy and didnt find time for the test... Now, i just created a new partition and installed ubuntu 13.10 to test the kernel without risk, but (i dont now why) the problem doesn't appear on this new installation, and so the kernel test will not give us the answer if the problem is soleved... The thing i can't understand, is that in 2 deferen't installs of 13.10 (both updated with all new updates) the old one gives me the error but the new one doesn't... Do you recoment me to install a new 12.04 and se what happns thre, or to do something else... The only deferent i can be sure the two OS's has, is the nvidia driver... I can't remember something else. If you want me to do something else, please give me some instructions, and i will do it... [Bug 1251928] Re: pulseaudio guvcview and logitech webcam (c310) cannot set freq
Ok, finishe with BIOS update and my tests in several ubuntu and here are my resaults: (some other day i will test my netbook with this camera... but for now i will give the resaults of my desktop): On Ubuntu 12.04 sometimes the error is both: cannot set freq 16000 to ep 0x86 and uvcvideo: Failed to query (GET_DEF) UVC control... Also, in Audio settings of guvcview input device is changed almost randomly from pulse or default to spdif or sysdefault and i have no microphone (on skype or guvcview) with these settings until i change back to default or pulse if i uninstall guvcview, sometimes doesn't give the error, but if i run skype then gives cannot set freq (I am not sure if this is random ... but as i noticed this has something to do with skype) if i unplug the camera i have no error, and everything works fine, then if i open sound settings, then sound settings-input is iec958-stereo input built in audio and then guvcview crushes and skype has no sound I noticed after several tests, that if i unplug the camera and not use skype or setings after pluging in the camera again, then i don't have the error... for some reason skype desapears from the taskbar and then i have to unplug camera, plug it in again, choose input sound from sound settings to be the camera's mic and NOT TO USE sound settings or volume... so may be the bug is in the alsamixer... On Lubuntu 12.04 Almost the same but haven't check unpluging the camera .. i almost always had the error On Linux Mint 13 - i had the error if i remove pulseaudio i have no error but sound recorder doesn;t works if i install again pulseaudio the error comes back (i think i used sound settings) On Ubuntu 13.04 - i had the error and i have noticed that guvcview input changed sometimes to spdif from pulse during restarts... and sometimes couldnt find USB input... but other times it apeared and if i choose the USB input everything except skype test sound works fine... But almost always had the error ( On Lubuntu 13.10 -- I never had the error (i think this helps) but i had no sound on skype and had sound on guvcview with input device webcam c310 analog input (or analog mono -dont remember now)... If i uninstall pulseaudio, i have sound on skypoe but guvcview doesnt open a window and i have to kill it from a terminal. If i remove guvcview and install again, everything works (including test sound) if i reinstall pulseaudio i have no sound on skype test sound But i never had the error on lubuntu 13.10 So if you know the deferences between this (lubuntu 13.10) and other ubuntu (plus Mint 13) may be you can understand what happens... ** Tags removed: bios-outdated-f8 ** Tags added: alsa-mixer logitech-web-camera pulseaudio salamander sound-settings -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251928 Title: pulseaudio guvcview and logitech webcam (c310) cannot set freq To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-raring/+bug/1251928/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
