[Bug 745960] Re: Cannot boot GRUB after installing to LVM

2012-03-20 Thread Krzysztof Litka
can you reproduce it with GRUB2 EFI on Mac?
(I don't recommend using +mac iso's, use normals)
Format pendrive to FAT32 - copy all files from the iso there(remember the
hidden .disk folder) - hold ALT and select your pendrive on list, thats it,
you can install with native EFI boot ;)

[Bug 817979] Re: [bcm5974] annoying random freezes

2011-12-16 Thread Krzysztof Litka
I remember when some time ago I was testing Ubuntu 11.10 pre-alpha or alpha1
with my friend on his MacBook.
Cursor was randomly freezing, and the workaround was to disable disabling
touchpad while typing...
But I think for him it is not a problem now, too...

So I think I can confirm that was a problem, but some updates fixed that
some time ago...

[Bug 890151] [NEW] Ubuntu 11.10 ISOs after release, not bootable from pendrive on Macs.

2011-11-14 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Public bug reported:

I am using MacBook 5,1.
I was using Ubuntu 11.10 alphas and betas, and they were installing with no
problem on pendrive, then booting GRUB2 EFI and OS normally started as live
session.
But now it does not display in Mac boot menu(when holding ALT at boot).
However when I plug it in BIOS system it boots normal.

Does ISO generation process change in 11.10 final? Maybe I am missing something?
I tried precise daily's, same thing.
Thanks and sorry for my bad english...

[Bug 856987] Re: Upgrade to Oneiric fails

2011-09-22 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Hi, thank you for your report.
As you can see:
 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
I think it is because of some broken dependencies or some packages does not
build in Oneiric as for now, and should be fixed shortly.

[Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro

2011-09-20 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Colin Watson, I was affecated by this bug in natty
11.04 breaked my Mac.
But 11.10 is fixed, now it installs GREAT in EFI mode, so it is no need to bios
emulation as all features that worked in bios emulation works in efi mode,
including binary nvidia driver.
And EFI mode gives better performance.

Also, Dario Bertini (berdario) wrote on 2011-09-06: #123

I don't have the problem myself, but I have a friend who does... I asked
him to try and he reported me that indeed in oneiric the problem doesn't
seem to appear

2011-09-08 Thread Krzysztof Litka
also: the problem in the kernel has been fixed, but the bug in the
installer is still there afaik.

Well, it isn't a bug...it's a feature :)
Ubuntu works faster without bios emulation. Grub installs fine. Resume from
sleep is faster...Ubuntu can run on EFI 1.x without problems :)
I think it can be marked as fixed.
EFI 1.x now works so no real need for +mac CD now ;)

2011-09-04 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

From what you written, it looks like a Xorg problem.
I changed bug status, to affects Xorg, not Linux.

Running again:

should send Xorg logs, that will be useful in debugging.

[Bug 840433] [NEW] Xorg gestures conflicts with uTouch

2011-09-03 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Public bug reported:

Xorg gesture recognition conflicts with uTouch.
Examples:
Try to do a pinch-zoom gesture on non-multitouch enabled app(firefox for
example):
Expected result: Nothing(as in OSX)
What is happening: page scrooling because two finger scrool was identified by
Xorg before uTouch identify that this is pinch-zoom.

Example 2:
When in photo app, there is uTouch pinch-zoom AND two finger scrool enabled,
this result in zooming and scrooling at the same time. I think because of that
scrooling is disabled in eog but pinch-zoom works(oneiric).

This is a serious usabity issue, and I think it is high priority bug to fix.
btw. it should not be a problem with wayland - uTouch will have FULL control
there, it will be integrated into compositor :)

[Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro

2011-08-30 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Ubuntu 11.04 64bit+mac should not break MacBooks - they does not have
EFI in it(32-bit version too), it will install in BIOS Emulation mode ;)

2) it is problem with setting GRUB to be default bootloader on EFI 1.x

btw. If anyone could try Ubuntu 11.10 daily ISO's that would be great, I
want other people to confirm that this stoped breaking MacBooks - GRUB
is set as default bootloader. I tried daily iso few times and it work!
GRUB installs ok, and does not break MacBook.

If more people can confirm this, then this bug can be set as fixed in
Oneiric.

[Bug 817979] [NEW] [bcm5974] annoying random freezes

2011-07-29 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Public bug reported:

bcm5974 is freezing randomly when used with my touchpad on my MacBook
5,1(native EFI boot).
Sometimes it work after moving cursor 3rd time, sometimes it completly freezes

I looked into system logs, when it freezes - but there is nothing about this.

And yes, it affects Oneiric with kernel 3.0 also. (tested)

[Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro

2011-07-24 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Affects me, MacBook 5,1.
Blessing worked after ~100 times ;) (Using OSX Lion)
Then cleaning PRAM and everything is working. (Cmd+Alt+P+R at startup)
It looks like grub2 image created was broken - bug maybe? I used Grub2 super cd
to boot my Ubuntu installation, and from there I made new grub2 efi image. Now
I can boot in efi mode :)
Does anyone know some details on what happened this bug? I am interesed in
fixing this bug, before 11.10 release :)
I will try to send some logs from installation.

[Bug 810026] Re: Kernel is compiled using very old GCC version

2011-07-13 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Thank you for your answer, Daniel :)
I was thinking old GCC version can affect performance so I reported this as a
bug. So, should this affect performance of kernel?
Because I think updating GCC version that kernel was compiled with, should give
kernel performance boost :)
But maybe I am wrong...

[Bug 749590] Re: Two finger scrooling in Unity

2011-05-18 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Hi!
Can somebody set some priority to this?
Maybe some developer is interesed to fix this :)?

For example, if I move windows, using 3 fingers - moving is very smooth.
I think, the same event, but with 2 fingers, can be used to replace default
Xorg(?) trackpad driver to make 2-finger scrooling more smooth :)

2011-04-03 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: utouch

Currently, to enable two finger scrolling, you must enable it in touchpad
preferences.
AND scrolling is not as smooth as it should be ...
Two finger scrooling should be performed at uTouch level.
After implementing this, this option should be dropped from touchpad
preferences.
And, it should be enabled by default.

[Bug 749618] [NEW] uTouch needs configuration center

2011-04-03 Thread Krzysztof Litka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: utouch

uTouch needs a module in the system configuration.
It should be possible to modify the response to the gestures.
There will be default values of Ubuntu (for example, as Unity responds to
gestures), but if user want to change this, let him do this.
And, if this is not implemented, uTouch API should provide, what is gestures
for popular actions, like switching web pages, and, for example switching to
next photos in another application. That should be done with the same gesture.

Sorry for my bad english :/
