[Bug 1013620] Re: [Acer AO772] shut down fails
Tried many suggested fixes I found that did not fix problem before finally testing latest up stream kernel: 201206270421 Have been able to start and shut down several times without problem although very slow in that process. Also not crashing when using programs as before. But lost broadcom sta in process. On another computer now as no internet connection. Seems reported bug fixed up stream. Now must try to get internet back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013620 Title: [Acer AO772] shut down fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1013620/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 285392] Re: Softreset failed (device not ready)
As of now, I have tried these combinations of kernel boot parameters: acpi=off: bug occurs after 40 hours of operation acpi=off noapic: bug occurs within the first 10 minutes of operation pci=nomsi: bug occurs within the first 10 minutes of operation Strange enough, this only happens on the second HDD attached to the controller, the first runs flawlessly. My mainboard is a Supermicro H8DI3+/i+/L+(-F), with a SB700/800 SATA controller: 00:11.0 SATA controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 SATA Controller [AHCI mode] (prog-if 01 [AHCI 1.0]) Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 SATA Controller [AHCI mode] Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10 I/O ports at c000 [size=8] I/O ports at b000 [size=4] I/O ports at a000 [size=8] I/O ports at 9000 [size=4] I/O ports at 8000 [size=16] Memory at fdcff800 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1K] Capabilities: [60] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [70] SATA HBA ? [Bug 157386] Re: Xorg radeon crashes w/ xinerama, displays garbage without
Okay, I finally figured it out: * 'Option DRI off ' in the 'Device' Section stops the hard freezes * You'll have to completely restructure your xorg.conf to use XRandR instead of the Xinerama stuff. Not making this clear during install/upgrade is a disastrous communication failure, IMHO. I'll attach my new xorg.conf for you to have an example working dual head config. (If this one does not work for you, run xrandr -q and rename the Monitor-DVI-0 options to reflect your connector names.) Feel free to publish this stuff for some tutorial pages or so. ** Attachment added: example working dual head config http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10223517/xorg.conf -- Xorg radeon crashes w/ xinerama, displays garbage without https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157386 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 157386] Xorg radeon crashes w/ xinerama, displays garbage without
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg After upgrading from feisty to gutsy, X won't come up anymore. After hacking around in xorg.conf, I hit a bug in the Radeon driver interacting with Xinerama. I'm using a dual head setup, as you can see from the config. Commenting out the Xinerama option results in garbled graphics, leaving it in makes X crash. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xorg radeon crashes w/ xinerama, displays garbage without https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157386 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
