[Bug 1272131] Re: Totem regains focus on a window when it is not supposed to.
I'm experiencing what I think is the same issue, although in my case it's complicated by running a multi-monitor setup. Here's my config: 1. Two displays (Built-in laptop screen, and external monitor). 2. The monitor has 6 workspaces set up, and I have hotkeys set up to show different workspaces. 3. The built-in display does not have workspaces. 4. The Primary display is the external monitor. 5. Totem running (Ful-screen) on the built-in display/ 6. Application A running on workspace 1 on the external monitor. 7. Application B running on workspace 2 on the external monitor. 8. Give focus to application A. 9. Hit the keyboard shortcut to move to workspace 2. 10. Give focus to application B. 11. Hit the keyboard shortcut to move to workspace 1. 12. Expected behaviour: Application A has focus. Actual behaviour: Totem has focus. 13. Hit the keyboard shortcut to move to workspace 2. 14. Expected behaviour: Application B has focus. Actual behaviour: Totem has focus. Note: This only happens for me if totem is running full-screen. If it is not then focus functions as expected (IE I can't replicate the OPs exact issue). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1272131 Title: Totem regains focus on a window when it is not supposed to. This may include: - Resetting to mirrored displays at 1024x768 - Resetting to a single display on the laptop panel - Resetting to a single display on the external monitor - Some other weird combination. E.g. When using my computer in a time range of 10 minutes i could get through 5 different dispositions and resolutions. It could be both display working fine, then only one but with wrong resolution, then the two again but with mirror, then just the second, and so on.. Hi Christopher, This problem still occurs on Saucy (13.10) daily. I'm on Raring, with the following package versions: account-plugin-google 0.11daily13.06.06-0ubuntu1~raring1 signon-plugin-oauth2 0.15-0ubuntu1 [Note: I'm using Gnome 3 via the PPA as detailed here : http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/04/gnome-3-8-ppa-for-ubuntu-gnome in case that makes any difference]. My Google account seemingly stays authenticated as long as I don't log out. If I log out (No matter if it's an hour after I logged in, or a week) then my credentials seem to be lost and I have to re-authenticate. [Bug 907381] [NEW] Display resolution keeps switching with external monitor connected
Public bug reported: A fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 on a Dell Vostro 3550 with all updates (OSS only - no proprietary drivers). When connecting the laptop to an external monitor to extend my desktop the display settings are unstable. I choose to enable both the laptop panel, and the external monitor setting appropriate resolutions and apply settings. Sometimes the chosen settings do not take. If they do apply, and I confirm that I want to keep the settings, at random intervals the display settings are auto-changed by the system. I can confirm that ACPI events are received (According to /var/log/acpid). Is there anything else I can do to provide debug information? -- CPU fans won't start https://launchpad.net/bugs/70739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 70739] Re: CPU fans won't start
It may be, but I don't think so. acpi -t doesn't trigger the fans on my machine, and the kernel bug you mentioned doesn't (At brief glance) seem to show anyone reporting ridiculous temperatures as I mentioned in my report (I'm sure 4billion degrees is outside normal operating range :p) -- CPU fans won't start https://launchpad.net/bugs/70739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 70753] ACPI reports bogues temperatures/Fan doesn't work
Public bug reported: I have a problem on an emachines 370 desktop. The CPU fan never appears to come on and it overheats when doing intensive work (Last time, in the middle of regenerating an initramfs during an upgrade!). The fan works fine in Windows XP, and worked under previous versions of Ubuntu (I think Hoary - but not too sure). Coincidentally ACPI reports bogus temperatures for the CPU ~$ cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature temperature: -267 C ~$ acpi -t Thermal 1: passive , 4294967040.0 degrees C I've also added this to bug 24308/54554 since it seems related [If not a dupe] Is there anything I can do to debug/investigate this? ** Affects: acpi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- ACPI reports bogues temperatures/Fan doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/70753 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 70753] Re: ACPI reports bogues temperatures/Fan doesn't work
Sorry - should have mentioned this is on edgy with all latest updates. -- ACPI reports bogues temperatures/Fan doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/70753 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 70739] Re: CPU fans won't start
Since my bug has been marked as a dupe of this I'll copy some other info from there: PC is an eMachines 370. Fan worked under previous versions of ubuntu, but no longer comes on under edgy. As well as this acpi reports bogus temperatures: ~$ cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature temperature: -267 C ~$ acpi -t Thermal 1: passive , 4294967040.0 degrees C bug 24308 and bug 54554 also seem similar -- CPU fans won't start https://launchpad.net/bugs/70739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
