[Bug 1886658] Re: libsnmp-perl depends on wrong perl version
Verified that the problem is in the version depends by downloading the deb pkg and doing the following: $ dpkg-deb --raw-extract ../libsnmp-perl_5.8+dfsg-2ubuntu2.1_amd64.deb . $ sed -i.bak 's/Depends: perl (>= 5.30.0-9ubuntu0.1)/Depends: perl (>= 5.30.0)/;' DEBIAN/control $ dpkg-deb --build . ../libsnmp-perl.deb $ sudo dpkg -i ../libsnmp-perl.deb and the modified package installed correctly. (of course, this breaks other depends, so it's just validating this one package) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1886658 Title: libsnmp-perl depends on wrong perl version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/net-snmp/+bug/1886658/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1570617] Re: [MIR] edk2
Thanks for bump. This (perhaps) makes for a useful time to point out that while there are still not formal releases, EDK2 now makes quarterly-ish "stable tags". So far we have edk2-stable201808 and edk2-stable201811, next one will be edk2-stable201903. My goal is for this to move to proper releases, longer-term. For now it's more of a valve on the fire hose, and the introduction of some level of process/discipline on the timing for applying non-bugfixes. As for openssl, don't know if that makes a huge difference, but that has now moved to a git submodule instead of being manually imported into the tree. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1570617 Title: [MIR] edk2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/edk2/+bug/1570617/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Looks like it is this commit that cause the workaround to stop working. https://cgit.cyrus.foundation/cyrus-sasl/commit/plugins/gssapi.c?id=080e51c7fa0421eb2f0210d34cf0ac48a228b1e9 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015819 Title: sb_sasl_generic_pkt_length: received illegal packet length when using ldapsearch and sasl with ssl or tls To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cyrus-sasl2/+bug/1015819/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1525207] Re: xserver-xorg-video-intel slow perfomance, needs updating
@tjaalton Xenial has git 20151019 (2:2.99.917+git20151019-1~exp1ubuntu1). Since there is no information on the git commit, I assume ef859c807a4bfad7c8a01a1d63f354f3ef310db5 from that date. By building the drivers on commit ef859c807a4bfad7c8a01a1d63f354f3ef310db5 on 15.10. I checked the daily build on 16.04, and the issue is there as well. However, by using the latest driver on commit c4565979572b61cf7fc0b931333c032c88b259f1, the issue is not visible. I would like to request the driver in 16.04 to be updated, if possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1525207 Title: xserver-xorg-video-intel slow perfomance, needs updating To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1525207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1362848] Re: ubuntu 14.04 after install nvidia binary driver 331.89 black screen and freeze
I had a similar issue on my Dell Precision M3800. (Black screen with nvidia drivers enabled, fine with Intel drivers, and the workaround of closing the lid worked.) Turns out, it was caused by a buggy version of xserver-xorg-video-intel, which came from the xorg-edgers PPA repository. When I downgraded to the official Ubuntu version, everything worked fine. To downgrade to the official Ubuntu version, you need to find its version string. For me, on trusty, the latest official version string was 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1.6, but you can find it for yourself with apt- cache showpkg xserver-xorg-video-intel. Once you have the version string, do apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel=VERSIONSTRINGHERE. You'll also want to pin the package to prevent upgrades from automatically installing the PPA's version in the future. To do that, create a file called /etc/apt/preferences.d/no-intel-ppa with the following contents: Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Pin: release o=LP-PPA-xorg-edgers Pin-Priority: -1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1362848 Title: ubuntu 14.04 after install nvidia binary driver 331.89 black screen and freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331/+bug/1362848/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1388262] [NEW] Prevent unsuitable scanning of /dev/mem and enable SMBIOS support for all UEFI platforms
Public bug reported: SMBIOS defines that on x86 platforms one can scan for an entry point in the physical address range 0xf-0xf - which is achieved by mmapping /dev/mem. However, this is invalid for most other architectures. Meanwhile, UEFI has alternative defined methods of discovery, so SMBIOS data can be easily found on at least IA64, ARM and AArch64. lshw currently has a stack of ifdefs to not attempt scanning on certain listed architectures. New architectures, like AArch64, end up with the lshw command potentially reading sensitive i/o regions, causing system crashes. The attached patch (which has been logged in upstream ticketing system, but is pending moderation there) flips the logic to only perform raw memory scanning on i386/x86_64 and also enables looking for SMBIOS tables on all UEFI platforms (in a safe manner). ** Affects: lshw (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: smbios-noscan.patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388262/+attachment/4250317/+files/smbios-noscan.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388262 Title: Prevent unsuitable scanning of /dev/mem and enable SMBIOS support for all UEFI platforms To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lshw/+bug/1388262/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1239100] [NEW] Modal dialogs do not receive focus when opened
Public bug reported: To reproduce with 2:7.3.547-6ubuntu5 on Ubuntu GNOME 13.04: 1. Open a file in GVIM. 2. Edit the file in another program. 3. Switch back to GVIM using one of * Alt-Tab switcher * Clicking on GVIM's title bar (not the client area) * The Activities switcher A modal dialog pops up saying 'W11: Warning: File test has changed since editing started'. [Bug 1001825] Re: apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse: conflict between ubuntu and OS X
Things will go much more smoothly if you use the same link keys in both OS X and Linux. Then the device won't need to be repaired everytime you switch between them. You can do this by: 1. Pairing in Linux 2. Pairing in OS X 3. Copying the link keys from OS X to Linux Attached is a script that will perform step 3. It assumes you are in Linux and have your OS X partition mounted at /media/osx (readonly is fine). It will overwrite all your Linux link keys (so anything not paired in OS X will stop working). Also, Linux apparently needs to know how many digits the PIN was when pairing. I have hardcoded the script to assume 6 but to make an exception for a given hardware address. You might want to edit the script with the hardware address of your mouse. It requires the package libplist-utils (sudo apt-get install libplist- utils). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001825 Title: apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse: conflict between ubuntu and OS X To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1001825/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I just ran across this bug too. (I changed the HUD hotkey to the windows key on my US keyboard, if that matters.) It seems like a more-or-less reliable method of triggering the bug is to press the hotkey very quickly -- the Type your command HUD appears briefly, then gets covered up by the larger HUD showing application icons etc. Pressing escape removes the larger HUD, but the Type your command HUD remains and seems insensitive to keypresses or mouse clicks. [Bug 951805] [NEW] Can't use Super_L in keyboard shortcuts

This also affects me. I have many directories (Music, Pictures, Videos, Downloads, Documents, etc.) in my homedir that are bind mounts of directories on another partition. [Bug 632327] Re: Powertop suggests CONFIG_PM_ADVANCED_DEBUG kernel option
That said, I would be pleased if these options were added to the default config that official kernels are compiled with, it doesn't really slow things down and makes powertop a lot more useful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/632327 Title: Powertop suggests CONFIG_PM_ADVANCED_DEBUG kernel option -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 714241] [NEW] evolution crash, corrupted double-linked list
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I do not know how to reproduce this, it just happens every once in a while when evolution is just sitting around, there is no interaction required. I am running with two accounts, both type IMAP+, going to a local dovecot-imapd. The imap server is synced with a remote server using offlineimap every 3 minutes with a cron job (it does not hold connections open), and evolution is set to use Idle. Ubuntu 10.10 evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3 dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.12-1ubuntu8 offlineimap 6.2.0.2ubuntu1 Here is what I see on the console. [Bug 660783] Re: after suspend: trackpoint and touchpad unresponsive for 5-10 sec
Also affects me. Please let me know if there is any debug information I can collect to track this down. It has been happening at least since Lucid, maybe earlier. The behavior I see is as follows: 1) suspend 2) resume 3) often (I think only when running on battery), but this may not be true, I haven't done any direct testing, the mouse and keyboard are responsive for a few seconds, then get very sluggish. Moving the mouse doesn't work for a bit (5-10 seconds), or is slow and jerky if it does respond. 4) after a small amount of time, normal operation resumes My thought was that something that had been swapped out to disk to make room for the resume image needed to get pulled back in for resume, but this seems somewhat counter-intuitive. There was another bug about evdev (#346310, something about EvdevReopenTimer()), maybe that's it? Nothing shows up in dmesg, I wonder what is the best approach for finding out more about this. It seems I'd need to start some logging collection before the suspend and hope it continues after the resume, but obviously if the keyboard and mouse don't respond, it's hard to trap the exact error in gdb or somesuch. Maybe there's a way to run X under valgrind? [Bug 700138] [NEW] Cannot resume from suspend
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart In the Sony Vaio VPC EB 11fm, on ubuntu 10.10 specifically (10.04 worked fine), you cannot suspend the machine, or more specifically, you cannot resume from a suspend. Hitting the suspend button puts the computer in the usual low level power statue as expected, but when the power button is pressed to resume the machine, it boots up as if it was shut down. I'm not certain if it's upstart, or a kernel bug that would cause this, but I've now gone through several kernels (although all of them from the default update channel), and the problem seems to persist. Again, it worked fine in ubuntu 10.04.
