[Bug 1825665] Re: Cannot set 3440x1440 resolution for HP 34C external monitor (HDMI) on ubuntu-wayland
Hi Sebastien, Thanks for getting back to me. It's an issue that appeared many releases ago related to a kernel update that unfortunately has not gotten any attention. I will try to find some data on that and post it here. The end user effectively cannot select the 3440x1440 resolution in gnome-settings because it is ot present. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825665 Title: Cannot set 3440x1440 resolution for HP 34C external monitor (HDMI) on ubuntu-wayland To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1825665/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1825665] [NEW] Cannot set 3440x1440 resolution for HP 34C external monitor (HDMI) on ubuntu-wayland
Public bug reported: On the regular Ubuntu desktop I use an .xprofile with xrandr commands that add the monitors native resolution as follows: xrandr --newmode "3440x1440" 196.25 3440 3600 3952 4464 1440 1443 1453 1468 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode HDMI-1 "3440x1440" Unfortunately this doesn't work under wayland and I have not yet found a solution. I have tried several ideas including a custom edid bin file without success. I'm reporting against the gnome-control-center since this corresponds to the end user experience. [Bug 910964] Re: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10)
I don't think this has anything to do with Rhythmbox inspite of those reports. I tried the test and there is nothing related to the issue in ~/.xsession-errors. On the other hand, I can reproduce the issue in shotwell pretty much every time with Rhythmbox not running and the MTP plugin disabled in any case. gphoto2 seems to have improved since the last time I ran these tests. I need to recharge my camera battery, but I do have a failure condition for gphoto2 all by itself and will post to the gphoto2 bug as soon as I can rerun a clean test. I believe the case here was when letting gvfs-gphoto2-volume-monitor kick in, unmounting the camera when the Removable Media alert appears, and then running env LC_ALL=C gphoto2 --debug-logfile=logfile.log --debug --get-all- thumbnails I will follow up on this in a little while. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910964 Title: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libgphoto/+bug/910964/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have this same error in dmesg on a Dell Inspiron 15z with a fresh quantal install. I tried the 3.7-rc2-racing kernel but it only boots with acpi=off. With the regular quantal 3.5 kernel its possible after a number of retries to boot with acpi=noirq. Booting with acpi=off does not allow testing this bug. [Bug 932640] [NEW] Display preferences app no longer detects external monitor after today's update
Public bug reported: Before today's update, I could use an exernal monitor plugged into the mini display port (intel card) of my Inspiron xps 15z. Now after today's update the display preferences applet doesn't detect the external monitor and clicking on Detect Displays doesn't help. I tried rebooting on the previous (3.0.0-15) kernel version and the problem remained so I think its due to a compiz update. [Bug 910964] Re: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10)
As an update to this, I disabled the gphoto2 gvfs backend by running sudo chmod -x /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-gphoto2-volume-monitor to isolate issues to shotwell / libgphoto2. What I get is that the issue persists and actually trying to run an import is not necessary, its enough to just click on the USB PTP Camera item and let shotwell display the photo previews to then have a PTP I/O Error be signaled by gphoto2 --list-files The camera is at this point in an unusable state. [Bug 389958] [NEW] libcurl3 causes https file upload to fail in flash player 10
Public bug reported: Contrary to reports mentioned in this post on Adobe's jira: (See http://www.pavlasek.sk/devel/?p=10) Flash Player 10 will successfully upload using Flex's FileReference.upload method on http and https on firefox in a clean jaunty installation. I recently came across a systematic failure of this method on https on my personal jaunty installation and tracked it down to having installed curl (and thus dependent package libcurl3). If libcurl3 is installed on top of a clean jaunty installation file upload will fail on https. The reason seems to have something to do with invalid handling of TLSV1 with libcurl3 installed since I saw an error in wireshark with a TLS frame being returned stating Fatal, Unexpected Message. I suspect a difference in implementation between OpenSSL and / Gnu TLS. Flash player in firefox / linux makes its own http or https connections instead of going through the browser when doing file upload. ** Affects: curl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- libcurl3 causes https file upload to fail in flash player 10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389958 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
