[Bug 1125207] Re: xterm cannot handle unicode when default font is changed
First of all, xterm does not start in unicode mode by default, start it with -u8 option or use wrapper uxterm. Second, you need to specify correct font codepage for your font. I also use Terminus. What you want to add is this to .Xdefaults: XTerm*utf8: 1 XTerm*font: -*-terminus-medium-*-*-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-* Now you can start xterm and it will work as expected. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libqt4-core Hello, there is an uncompatibility in the current LTS release Hardy Heron. Several packages (like qt4-core, qt4-gui etc) are in 4.3.4 version but some others (libqt4-dbg, libqt4-doc...) are backported and in version 4.4.0. And this is big problem. For example I am unable to develop with QT4 because I need all of the modules (core, bui, dbg, doc, xml, webkit etc) and this cannot be done because of dependencies: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libqt4-help: Depends: libqt4-sql (= 4.4.0-1ubuntu5~hardy1) but 4.3.4-0ubuntu3 is to be installed Solution: backport all QT4 libraries (version 4.4.0). Exactly same for me. I dont know if is it long delay -- I have never waited and switched comp off. I have several connections with Samba and NFS over OpenVPN. It seems OpenVPN stops BEFORE this and the unmoutn script is not able to unmout. Very annoying. I created init script that will unmount all remote mounts before the openvpn stops - with no luck. [Bug 65833] Patched verion of QT libs brakes opera
Public bug reported: Th Ubuntu`s patched verion of QT libs brakes the Opera rendering process. There is something bad with font sizes, all pages rendered by shared Opera version 9.XX are bad (text proportionals is bad). Example: Bad version: http://tanecni-olomouc.cz/temp/kde1.png Good version (Konqueror, opera-static): http://tanecni-olomouc.cz/temp/kde2.png (Please ignore the shadow of the Katapult program in the middle of the screen). I know Opera is closed source program but Opera ASA is not able to test their program under all distributions. It is ok under other Linuxes (Mandriva, SUSE, Red Hat...). There must be some strange patch of the QT library. I am using the static version for now but I would love to use the shared (normal) version as other distribution users do. I am sending a bug report to Opera too with the link for this page. I hope Ubuntu and Opera ASA developers will solve this inconvinience. Thanks in advance. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Patched verion of QT libs brakes opera https://launchpad.net/bugs/65833 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
