[Bug 488461] [NEW] Ubuntu 9.10 breaks Windows raid0 array, Intel ICH10R
Public bug reported: I have two hard drives set in a Raid0 array and have Windows 7 installed to that array. I added a third hard drive to the system and installed Ubuntu 9.10 to it. I disconnected the two Raid0 drives from the system while installing Ubuntu 9.10, but left the intel controller set to raid so I could reconnect and use my Windows 7 Raid0 array again once done installing Ubuntu. This leaves me the following setup: 2X) 160gb HDD's in Raid0 Win7 1X) 320gb HDD Ubuntu 9.10 Here is where the problem occurs. When I boot to Ubuntu then restart the system, during the boot process where you see the Intel Controller list the attached drives, one of the two drives in the Raid0 shows a Failed error. If I turn the system completely off and do a cold boot it corrects itself and I can successfully boot into Windows 7. The next time I boot into Ubuntu and restart, the same thing happens again. As long as I do not boot Ubunty the Raid0 array is never affected, only after booting in to Ubuntu. I did not have this problem in previous releases, it has just become a problem with the latest release. Please advise! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu 9.10 breaks Windows raid0 array, Intel ICH10R https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488461 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 458637] Re: samba client unable to access Windows 7 shares
I can confirm the Win7 issue. I just installed 9.10 today and am unable to access my Win7 shared folders. I get the same can not get file list error. I was able to get sharing files with the XP computer in the house using the tutorial at the Ubuntu forums. I have file and print sharing on and password sharing disabled in Win7. When I choose places/network an icon appears for the Win7 machine, but double clicking on it just hangs for a minute or so and finally the error described pops up. -- samba client unable to access Windows 7 shares https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
