[Bug 1568573] Re: [Lenovo Thinkpad T460] Ultra Dock external displays not detected after suspend/resume cycle

2016-07-07 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Exactly the same (and some more) problems are on my Lenovo X250
Broadwell machine with 4.4 kernel. I have tested 4.6.0, 4.6.3 and just
now 4.7-rc6. All issues disapeared.

intercepted by the parent window however they are not interpreted. It is

[Bug 767095] Re: 1 pixel icons in notification-area-applet when compiz is the windows manager

2011-06-07 Thread Marcin Dylewski
I am another happy user who can report that problem went away. Additionally it
looks like it fixed a two other bugs and introduces one new (at least for me):
- So far i haven't noticed any gnome-applet crashes
- Emerald finaly works

There is one regression tough - when I switch to Emerald shadows that
should appear under the right edge of each window are not displayed at
all. Could you please advise to which package the bug should be raised -
emerald or compiz?

[Bug 767095] Re: 1 pixel icons in notification-area-applet when compiz is the windows manager

2011-05-24 Thread Marcin Dylewski
@Adam: I don't see such behaviour with Skype - it basically never
appears at my desktop. However Kadu bahaves exactly like you described -
some random full-icon-sized image appears and then icon is shown. Where
icon do not appear then this noise is nevert present. Hint with using
unintialized memory sounds reasonable to me.

[Bug 773482] Re: Compiz makes the system unstable in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty

2011-05-21 Thread Marcin Dylewski
The same is with me. I am using classic desktop with cairo-dock instead
of bottom panel. Sometimes when i login WM crashes and put me back to
login screen, sometimes various applets fail and sometimes the whole
desktop is locked - CPU usage jumps to 100%. I am disappointed with
Natty as there are many bugs that affect me - i have an impression that
Ubuntu became a corporate product where timelines are more important
then quality. :(

[Bug 694114] Re: umountfs init job crashes with SIGSEGV when autofs is in use

2011-01-03 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Apologies but I have already realized that I had raised bug for not
appropriate package. The file fixed is /etc/init.d/umountfs which
belongs to sysvinit (i should read man for dpkg much closer). I have
raised a bug #695804 which affects correct area so if you can somehow
link these bugs together or remove the one in autofs5 that would be
great.

[Bug 695804] [NEW] Shutdown umount sequence crashing with SIGSEGV

2010-12-30 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: initscripts

When i have host configured to automount NFS share on /mnt/auto during
the restart or shutdown umountfs crashes with SIGSEGV. There is info
saying that device is busy and then crash occurs. The result is that all
filesystems are not clearly unmounted and fsck started to inspect drive.
Eventually my system hangs during shutdown and login prompt is not
available. I guess this is another bug that i should report in other
area.

Steps to reproduce (just replace with some real NFS server)
--
# echo "/etc/auto.auto /mnt/auto --ghost --timeout=30 soft rsize=8192
wsize=8192" >> /etc/auto.master
# echo "NFS:/NFS " >> /etc/auto.auto
# service autofs restart
# init 6

Result:
---
During the shutdown crash occurs and after startup fsck should be triggered.

I have fixed that by adding autofs to exclusion list in umountfs init
script. I am attaching a patch.

P.S.

initially i have filed a bug report 694114 but i figured out that i have
chosen wrong package as a source. Let someone reassign that bug to
proper package as seems i do not have appropriate privileges or
appropriate knowledge. :)

I am attaching a patch that works for me.

[Bug 694114] [NEW] umountfs init job crashes with SIGSEGV when autofs is in use

2010-12-24 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: autofs5

I have an autofs daemon running and mounting NFS shares over /mnt/auto
directory. Whenever i perform restart of the system (using reboot
command) i can see that during umountfs stage info about /mnt/auto is
being busy is displayed, then information about remount in ro mode.
Then i can see the Segmentation Fault message and none of the
filesystems are cleanly umounted. The result is that during the boot
fsck is being run on all fs and correct errors. I beieve this is quite
critical bug because it may result with data loss.

Yes i do. This is the exact command i am using:

tar czpf /mnt/auto/NFS/backup/datasets/srvdb1p-3.tar.gz -g
/mnt/auto/NFS/backup/metadata/srvdb1p-snapshot.snar / --exclude=/mnt

I can reproduce this bug anytime, thus let me know if any additional

attaching output of strace -f. Maybe this will shed some light.

[Bug 687594] [NEW] tar crashes with SIGSEGV when used with --listed-incremental option

2010-12-08 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tar

I have a backup script which is doing incremental backups on NFS share.
I am using an -g (--listed-incremental) option for that purpose. If the
snapshot file does not exists (which means tar is doing full backups)
everything works flawlessly. The problem occur whenever incremental
backup has to be taken. Tar crashes immediately with Segmentation Fault
error. I have tried to isolate NFS issues and copied the snapshot file
to local storage and instructed tar to put the archive to local drive as
well. The result was exactly the same. When i tried with copying just
small amount of data problem did not occur. I have recently migrated
from Gentoo where tar worked perfectly with this setup.

[Bug 610131] Re: Facebook contacts cannot be added to groups

2010-11-13 Thread Marcin Dylewski
I fully agree with Sean. Is there a place to file a feature request for
Empathy?

[Bug 317468] [NEW] Network manager does not update resolv.conf when connecting cellular network.

2009-01-15 Thread Marcin Dylewski
Public bug reported:

Release: 8.10

I am using polish cellular network (iPlus) with Huawei E220 modem. In
cellular conenction settings on IPV4 settings tab i have set the method
"Automatic PPP, address only" and manually set DNS to 212.2.96.51.
However upon connect file /etc/resolv.conf contains only single line

# Automatically generated by network manager

When i add nameserver entries manually it works fine but upon next
connection the file is cleared again.
