[Bug 1080187] Re: CUPS reports 'Filter failed' and 'Idle - Can't detect file type' on printing a test page.
** Description changed: I have an Epson Stylus Office BX925FWD, or what I think is an Epson Workforce 840 series printer. In Quantal (Not Precise - then it was fine...), printing a test page results in 'Idle - can't detect file type' in the Red Hat system-config-printers application, AKA 'Printing' (the default printing manager', and 'Filter failed' in View Attributes window. This didn't happen in Precise, and it is likely a fault in cups, not Red Hat's utility, as I had set the Printer up using localhost:631 and returned the same error... http://i49.tinypic.com/2jcf2w5.png + + This worked previously in quantal, so it is probably caused by an + update, and printing anything else works fine. [Bug 1069368] [NEW] Significant drop in network performance when wireless USB adapter is plugged into motherboard ports.
Public bug reported: To be honest, I am not sure which package this falls into. I realised quite some time ago that when my wireless adapter is plugged into my back motherboard USB ports, it takes about 5-30 seconds to detect and connect to a network. Connected to the front-panel ports on my case, this period is vastly shorter at 5-10 seconds max. `lsusb` reports five of my ports as 1.1 for some reason, although a man named John Grubber says that my motherboard may assign buses to certain ports if a 1.1 USB is connected, so the back ports will become legacy... http://paste.ubuntu.com/1269622/ When benchmarking an ext4 formatted flash drive, the read speeds were faster (slightly) than the front panel ports, so maybe this is my network USB. I am not sure if this is something to do with the BIOS/MB or Ubuntu. Connected to the front panel ports, the average download speed is at 30MB/s at http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/, and at the motherboard ports, these are at about 5MB/s. My network USB is a Belkin F6D4050 (N150). [Bug 1047921] [NEW] GDebi loses globalmenu integration directly after password prompt.

Have removed the fglrx driver and I am now with the somewhat slow Gallium driver. None of the bug so far... At the moment, my two main suspects are the Linux kernel or the fglrx driver. Public bug reported: When the mouse hovers over a unity icon for the first time, the Name of the app does not preview in the black arrow, the name will only display after the mouse is taken away from the icon and re-hovered over it - so it seems as if the first mouse-over was only to wake it up, or initialize it, and the second is to actually request the name.
