[Bug 1965646] Re: pulseaudio missing even though says installed in software center. Have no audio

2022-03-25 Thread Marko Stanković
Is this bug related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pipewire/+bug/1963934 ?
If doing this solves the issue, then it probably is:
sudo touch /usr/share/pipewire/media-session.d/with-pulseaudio

2018-07-20 Thread Marko Stanković
The other computer (main one I'm writing from) got the same message
after update to 0.131ubuntu1, so I booted with the older kernel (4.15),
downgraded initramfs-tools, initramfs-tools-bin and initramfs-tools-core
to 0.130ubuntu10 and successfully rebooted with the new kernel. I saved
the broken and working initrd.img-4.17.0-5-generic images. Please advise
if and where to upload them (27MB each).

Public bug reported:

I'm running cosmic with proposed enabled (yes, I know...) and just updated

Upon reboot, I've got the message from summary.
Then I rebooted into a previous kernel version (4.15) and ran 'update-initramfs

Comparing new (4.17) and old (not updated 4.15) initramfs images on another

Yes, it "fixed" the state of packages by overwriting a file from one
package with a file from another package. That's just removing the
symptom, not fixing the issue.

Thanks Dmitry, I did so. I know this is a development version of Ubuntu and
rough edges like are to normal, but can't this transition be done without
conflict in package management? Is there a general document describing the GCC5

[Bug 1649156] [NEW] Dependency on libdouble-conversion1 causes conflict

2016-12-11 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Since this change:
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/295556379/double-conversion_2.0.1-3ubuntu2_2.0.1-4ubuntu1.diff.gz

libdouble-conversion1 breaks libdouble-conversion1v5 and since this change:
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/296573650/qtdeclarative-opensource-src_5.6.1-7ubuntu2~1_5.6.1-7ubuntu2~2.diff.gz

I have a conflict on Zesty with 2 resolutions:
1. Keep libqt5qml5 unupdated
2. Remove libdouble-conversion1v5 and install libdouble-conversion1
What should I do and isn't v5 meant to replace the original
libdouble-conversion1?

Cheers,
Marko

[Bug 1643129] Re: Drop system-config-printer-gnome package

2016-12-06 Thread Marko Stanković
Current state of packages in Zesty (proposed is disabled) produces a conflict
for those with system-config-printer 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu2 because updating
it to 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu4 breaks system-config-printer-gnome (<<
1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu3~) and available version of system-config-printer-gnome
is 1.5.7+20160812-0ubuntu2
Proposed resolutions are:
1. keep system-config-printer
2. remove system-config-printer-gnome
I resolved the conflict by removing system-config-printer-gnome only after
finding this LP bug and figuring out what's going on. I know this is a
development version of Ubuntu, but many people will still be confused with this
conflict.
Maybe there is a different way of making this transition that doesn't create a
conflict?

Cheers,
Marko

Run this command in terminal as a workaround for this bug:
sudo dpkg --force depends -r libtesseract3v5

...then try to upgrade the packages as usual.

I've tried proposing the merge but got "lp:~sm4rk0/initramfs-tools is not
mergeable into this repository."
This is where I pushed the patched hook-functions:

2016-02-01 Thread Marko Stanković
I can confirm both the bug (with /dev/sda1 on my computers) and that
Jay's patch works. I would like to make a fix, if that's OK (and if it's
needed). This would be "my" first fix and I'm following this tutorial:

[Bug 1430590] [NEW] package kdeconnect depends on deleted (transitional) qca2 packages

2015-03-10 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (development branch)
Release:15.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
kdeconnect:
  Installed: 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 0.7.3-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/ubuntu/ vivid/universe i386
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
Remove "transitional dummy packages":
libqca2-plugin-gnupg
libqca2-plugin-ossl

4) What happened instead
kdeconnect depends on them, so not removing the dummy packages

Proposed solution:
Update the /debian/control file by replacing these two packages with
libqca2-plugins

** Affects: kdeconnect (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1359439] Re: [ 7.287663] systemd-logind[1057]: Failed to start unit user@126.service: Unknown unit: user@126.service

2015-03-02 Thread Marko Stanković
Hi Romain,

Thanks for interesting observation and analysis, but I believe these two
problems are not related. As a test, try restarting the computer and
then logging in via one of the tty2-tty6 (Ctrl-Alt-F2 - Ctrl-Alt-F6).
I'm getting that line with user@1000.service only on first tty login
after a boot.

Cheers,
Marko

[Bug 1406993] [NEW] Missing "dbab" subdir part in /etc/dbab/dbab* paths in scripts

2015-01-01 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

Just installed dbab version 1.1.2-1 on Ubuntu Vivid.
All scripts fail with
"cat: /etc/dbab.addr: No such file or directory"
or similar error (different command and/or file).
All those files are actually installed in the "dbab" subdir within the /etc
directory.

So, to fix this, either update all the scripts to include this extra subdir
when referring to /etc files, or remove the "/dbab" from the Makefile, line 11:
astdir = ${etcdir}/dbab

Cheers,
Marko

[Bug 1403659] [NEW] Does nothing unless there's a started tmux server

2014-12-17 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

Hi Dustin,

First of all, thanks for this lovely script!

Upon installation on my kubuntu vivid, I've tried the hollywood, but it did
nothing.
I've ran it from byobu (screen backend), from a tty console (a la Alt-F6), and
from an xterm console - all with the same results.

After some debugging with
sh -x $(which hollywood)
I've noticed it stops upon executing this line
tmux new-window -n $PKG "$widget_dir/$widget1" \; \
set-option -g pane-active-border-bg "default" \; \
set-option -g pane-active-border-fg "default" >/dev/null 2>&1
Which evaluates in runtime as, for example:
tmux new-window -n hollywood /usr/bin/../lib/hollywood/jp2a \; set-option -g
pane-active-border-bg default \; set-option -g pane-active-border-fg default
And the outcome is:
failed to connect to server: Connection refused
...unless there's a tmux running somewhere, started by the current user.

Proposed solution is to check if we are ran from within a tmux session (ie TMUX
environment variable is set):
if [ -z "$TMUX" ]; then
 tmux new-session ...; else
 tmux new-window ...; fi

Cheers,
Marko

[Bug 1275243] [NEW] plasma-widget-homerun-kicker package should depend on plasma-widget-homerun

2014-02-01 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
Release:14.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
plasma-widget-homerun-kicker:
  Installed: 1.2.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.2.0-0ubuntu1

 *** 1.2.0-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/ubuntu/ trusty/universe i386
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
Working plasma widget

4) What happened instead
Installing only plasma-widget-homerun-kicker without plasma-widget-homerun and
then adding a widget to the workspace produces an error (can't reproduce it
right now as I have plasma-widget-homerun installed).
Note: I'm doing a dist-upgrade, for a couple of years and I don't have
ubuntu-desktop nor ubuntu-full installed. They both recommend
plasma-widget-homerun, thus probably hiding this error from most users and
developers.
