[Bug 152206] Re: Intel 965G (GMA X3000) - Video Tearing Effect Poor Performance

2007-11-30 Thread Mathias Nedrebø
The tearing is happening on my computers as well, both my laptop with
Intel GMA X3000 and my desktop with nVidia GeForce 7600 GS. I suspect
this to be a bug in X.

[Bug 94640] Re: Old install CDs installs old version of Ubuntu.

2007-03-22 Thread Mathias Nedrebø
** Description changed:

Why should we need to download a new cd everytime there is a new Ubuntu
release. For me it's not really a problem, but it would be convenient to
use the same cd over and over again. And for new users or users getting
their CD from a magazine or book it may be of great impotence, they
might even not know that they don't got the latest and greatest. My
proposal is that if a networkconnection is detected when launching the
liveCD installer, it checks wheter this CD contains the latest Ubuntu
release. If not, it could present the uses with a dialog like this:

 WARNING

The CD you are installing from is outdated. It is
-recommendet to use the latest release, do you
-want to automaticly download and install the
-latest vesion? Installing from the net may take
-longer time than installing from the CD depending

[ Yes, install latest Ubuntu ][ No, use this CD ]

I they answer yes, then just download the latest installer script and do
  a network install using it.

changing to an other workspace.
