[Bug 1262019] [NEW] missing binary in texlive-music package: songidx
Public bug reported: As per the documentation for songs.sty here: http://songs.sourceforge.net/songsdoc/songs.html#sec10.3 I expect a binary called songidx to exist in the path somewhere, but it is missing. IMO this should be in the same package as the songs.sty file - namely texlive-music, although I am not a heavy LaTeX / TeX user so there might be a better way to arrange it. ** Affects: texlive-extra (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1262019 Title: missing binary in texlive-music package: songidx To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/texlive-extra/+bug/1262019/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am having this with Natty, when I run awesome window manager. I use some KDE apps (konsole, kphotoalbum, ktorrent). Re: [Bug 481669] Re: Stellarium crashes on startup (ATI Radeon graphics card)
I tried to look in the source of the Linux kernel at this message which appears in the dmesg output. The code where it happens is in the DRI driver and I simply don't know what it is doing. Some sort of allocation of buffers and is clearly not able to allocate as much as is wanted. I don't know what exactly. It might be for a texture. Our biggest texture is m42dumont.png in the default nebula set. This is a long shot but maybe someone could try it and tell me if this helps: Please execute these commands in the terminal: $ mkdir -p ~/.stellarium/nebulae/default $ cd ~/.stellarium/nebulae/default $ wget http://porpoisehead.net/images/m42dumont.png $ stellarium If that doesn't work, try running with the --safe-mode option just in case. [Bug 641302] Re: Ubuntu 10.10Beta -- no left side menus
@mmiicc You could try starting with the --safe-mode option and see if that helps (uses older version of OpenGL, which may work better with some graphics cards / drivers. Your screenshot looks like what I get when I use the open source ATI drivers. If this is indeed the case, you can use the proprietary driver and it might work better (works for me). [Bug 426417] Re: broken menus at Ubuntu LInux 9.04 with intel-2.8.1
cyberorg: I struggle to believe it's the same on hardware types - it's _always_ been hardware specific in the dozens, if not hundreds of cases I've looked at. Please can you double check? I would like to see a list of gfx cards you've tried with driver type and version, and a screenshot from each. Note that there are different categories of problem - some affect the intel cards, others the SIS cards, and still others the ATI cards (especially the ATI cards). They look quite different once you've seen a few of them, but you might not easily distinguish them if you are not used to it. [Bug 203016] Re: Memory Leak in NetworkManager
I wrote a little Perl script which beeps and uses libnotify to show you when the leak is occurring (attached, argument is number of seconds between checks). I get a leak of about 4kb every 5 seconds, although there are periods of 20 seconds about once a minute where I get no leak. It seems like the leak only happens when knetworkmanager is running. When I close knetworkmanager, the leak stops. I found the best way to re-start network manager once it had grown too memory-hoggingly massive, was to do sudo /etc/init.d/dbus restart. It will drop any wireless connections when you do this though. Yes. I now use version 0.76 beta from Feisty Fawn Ubuntu repos. I narrowed down the problem by removing all entries except konqueror. [Bug 108596] Re: Blender crashes, when starting game-engine
I can confirm this bug. It also happens with binary from blender site (with 7 cycles of starting game engine and exiting it). The problem also occurs with SVN blender code (from 2007-06-27) [not very useful] back trace attached from problem with SVN build. blender was built with debugging symbols, but the backtrace tries to look in the python library, which is not built with debugging symbols. Finally I downloaded the Python source, built that and then re-build blender using the new python, and it works OK. There is a difference however - the Python I built from source is statically linked with blender, not dynamically, i.e. blender links to libpython2.5.a in my working build, where as in the [broken] Ubuntu packages it is linking to libpython2.5.so. I don't know if this makes a difference. ** Attachment added: backtrace of blender crash http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8217973/bt.txt -- Blender crashes, when starting game-engine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 48199] Re: multimon crashes Xorg
I also found this. Killing the program from another shell doesn't cause the error - just when the scope window is closed by clicking the close window dialog. It is a problem with the scope function. A simple way to prevent the error is to compile out the scope function: In multimon.h, change the #define ALL_DEMOD removing the scope module (monfix.patch) It's not a perfect fix, but the important function of the program is restored (genfix.patch) In the gen.c file there is also a bug which prevents creation of non-raw format files.
