[Bug 1093139] Re: csv import: fails to parse dates
Hi, first I feel sorry that I seem to have offended frankster (wtfrank) in my earlier notes in this bug. Yes, my question in note #1 was not helpful at all, and I now regret that I wrote it at all. For me it was obvious that the date format d-m-y means exactly this: A string composed of three groups of digits separated by dashes. This format is so common in the IT industry that I thought my brief notes were enough to understand the problem. So please accept my apologies for not taking enough time to write an answer with an end user and not an IT expert in mind. Regarding the user expectation that Gnucash should import whatever format the banks provide, please note that there are so many calendar date formats in use all over the world that it is almost impossible to always parse a string representation of any calendar date correctly. If a bank decides to invent yet another date format (I consider separating the numbers with spaces odd), please contact your bank and ask them to fix the CSV export. This is not really a Gnucash issue, which is why I changed the status to 'Invalid' in note #6. Sorry for not explaining it at that time. Back to the issue this is all about: In note #5, frankster (wtfrank) does not explicitly answer my question whether the import works when using a dash as a separator. When I wrote note #6, I assumed that it does. SHULTZIE, in note #8 you wrote that you have too issues with importing CSV files, even when using a dash as a separator. Is this correct? Unfortunately I can't try it on my own as I have no such CSV file. So, frankster and/or SHULTZIE, could you please confirm that it works with a dash as separator (at least if the CSV data adhere to the selected order of day, month and year)? Alternatively, can you please provide a test file and more precise instructions how to reproduce the issue? I hope all this helps to get to a better resolution of this issue. But if anybody could provide the requested information, I am sure we will find a resolution that everybody can agree with. [Bug 831205] Re: libgwenhywfar version 4.1.0-1 failed to build in oneiric
The attached patch should fix the build failure. The patch cannot be uploaded to Debian yet, because on Debian systems the Qt libraries still live in /usr/lib (the single arch path), and the additional flag causes the build system to look in the specified directory only. A better fix (auto Qt path discovery for both, single arch and Multiarch) is already committed to the upstream SVN, so the next upstream version will not need this patch. ** Patch added: Explicitly configure the path for Qt4 in multiarch path https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgwenhywfar/+bug/831205/+attachment/2327390/+files/LP831205_Add_support_for_multiarch.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831205 Title: libgwenhywfar version 4.1.0-1 failed to build in oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgwenhywfar/+bug/831205/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 824667] Re: package libgoffice-0.8-8 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile returned error exit status 2
Bob, Just because the required package is named 'libgoffice-0.8-8', it doesn't mean that it is required in version 0.8.8. What gnucash calls for, is only the package name. Any version equal to or above 0.8.8 is accepted by the package dependencies. However, your problem seems to be completely unrelated to package dependencies -- even completely unrelated to libgoffice-0.8-8 or gnucash. The submitted DpkgTerminalLog.txt contains the following lines: Unpacking libgoffice-0.8-8 (from .../libgoffice-0.8-8_0.8.12-1_amd64.deb) ... dpkg-deb (subprocess): data: internal gzip read error: 'fd:0: data error' dpkg-deb: error: subprocess decompress returned error exit status 2 ... which looks like the package file libgoffice-0.8-8_0.8.12-1_amd64.deb it tries to unpack contains an error. A possible reason for that is an incomplete or corrupted download. You should investigate why that happened. Please check whether your system is short on disk storage on any partition. If not, please re-download the package libgoffice-0.8-8 from [1]Ubuntu and install it manually by running following command on a shell in the download directory: sudo dpkg -i libgoffice-0.8-8_0.8.12-1_amd64.deb You can select a download location from any of the mirrors on this page: http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/amd64/libgoffice-0.8-8/download If this succeeded (and your system isn't hosed by other means), you should be able to install gnucash as usual. [Bug 799225] Re: Sync libaqbanking 5.0.10-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Jean-Louis: regarding WARNING vs. ERROR you're partly right. In case the build stops this seems to be rather an error than a warning. However, the check is some guesswork which is intended to *warn* me in cases where the check fails on first build. In this particular case the check didn't fire for my Debian build. I assume the reason why the check didn't fire is that the new symbols in libaqbanking that picked up the newer Gwenhywfar version were generated by a Gwenhywfar macro. In the sense of the Debian Policy this means that the newer version in the build-dep is not required, i.e. the check including its warning message was wrong! Without this check the package builds without errors and with the older Gwenhywfar version installed. Anyways, this check helps me (in some cases) to upload a package with insufficient build dependencies. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799225 Title: Sync libaqbanking 5.0.10-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libaqbanking/+bug/799225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 589920] Re: Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Regarding old udev versions: Granted. But what's about the other changes? For instance the configuration file /etc/udev/rules.d /40_libchipcard-tools.rules was only available in Ubuntu versions of this package. The maintainer scripts I wrote for Debian will not take care of these. Additionally in the past the Ubuntu packages had some initscript renumberings, that the maintainer scripts need to take care of. I would prefer if Ubuntu would NOT sync the package with Debian now. Instead Ubuntu should wait until libchipcard 5 (currently available in Debian experimental) is in Debian unstable. This version does not need a daemon at all any more, so all changes and bugs related to libchipcard's initscript or udev rules would be solved at once and forever. -- Sync libchipcard 4.2.9-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
