I have attempted to purge all references to hplip and re-install the packages included in 20.04 (which install 3.20.3) but that does not seem to change the results shown above. [Bug 1878974] [NEW] Unable to use HP USB Printer in Ubuntu 20.04 - apear to be hplip issues
Public bug reported: Hi, I am unable to connect and print with a HP USB Pinter on Ubuntu 20.04, Spent some time troubleshooting with the default (previously current) drivers hplip ver. 3.20.3 , but Ubuntu 20.04 does not seem to be supported officially due to missing dependencies. Errors about missing pyqt4 dependencies among others. When using the hplip ver. 3.20.3 from the Ubuntu Repo printer is found but fails to print. Just noticed similar bug filed, 690720 , and saw note that new hplip ver. 3.20.5 was just released and supports Ubuntu 20.04 When trying to install new package hplip ver. 3.20.5 with the .run script provided by HP I am unable to complete installatoin as it reports unmet dependency of pyqt5 , even though package python3-pyqt5 is installed on system. https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip Maybe the repo just needs to be updated with a newer build (3.20.5) to install on my system, or is there something that can be done in the meantime. [Bug 1870981] Re: u-boot environment modification does not work raspberry 4 with eoan
I loaded up a new card to do a minicom dump for you and now I cannot reproduce this either. This puzzles me as I tried a bunch of things to try to get this to work and ended up having to build custom u-boot packages. The only thing I can think is I had a bad microsd card. [Bug 1870985] [NEW] RFE: Enable autoboot strings by default
Public bug reported: This is a feature request as opposed to a bug. I would be super handy to have the following settings enabled by default in the Raspberry Pi Ubuntu u-boot package. CONFIG_AUTOBOOT_KEYED CONFIG_AUTOBOOT_DELAY_STR "delay" CONFIG_AUTOBOOT_STOP_STR "stop" The documentation for these settings is here: https://gitlab.denx.de/u-boot/custodians/u-boot- raspberrypi/-/blob/master/doc/README.autoboot Many of us using Ubuntu on Raspberry Pi are using the serial ports for connecting various devices/hats. As Ubuntu currently ships, any character received on the serial port will halt the boot process. Devices, such as GPS receivers, typically have a regular stream of output that, when attached at boot, cause u-boot to halt. By setting the above settings (or something similar) it will require a specific string to be entered to halt u-boot, instead of any character. Reconfiguring u-boot to not abort on any character is quite hard and poorly documented. ** Affects: u-boot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870985 Title: RFE: Enable autoboot strings by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/u-boot/+bug/1870985/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1870981] [NEW] u-boot environment modification does not work raspberry 4 with eoan
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 19.10 Release:19.10 Package: u-boot-rpi (2019.07+dfsg-1ubuntu3) On a Raspberry Pi 3 model B, I can interrupt the u-boot process and use the following two commands to disable the boot delay. I do this as I have a GPS device attached to the serial port and the NMEA messages will halt the u-boot boot process. Commands: setenv bootdelay -2 saveenv This saves a u-boot environment file into the /boot filesystem such that this setting persists across power cycles. However, with eoan on a Raspberry Pi 4, this environment file is not written out properly and on subsequent reboots u-boot will say that the file is corrupt. This will cause u-boot to revert to the built in defaults which causes the u-boot process to halt. ** Affects: u-boot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870981 Title: u-boot environment modification does not work raspberry 4 with eoan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/u-boot/+bug/1870981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
