[Bug 1970060] [NEW] Firefox Snap Element Desktop URL Handler not working

2022-04-23 Thread Michael Weimann
Public bug reported:

Summary:

The Firefox snap version seems to be unable to open application URIs.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

- Have Element Desktop installed https://element.io/get-started
- Go to https://matrix.to/#/#element-dev:matrix.org
- Select Element Desktop
- Click Continue

Expected:

- Element opens the room

What happens:

- Can only select „System Handler“
- Confirming to use „System Handler“ does nothing

OS version: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Snap version: 99.0.1-1

Workaround: Remove the snap version; install from Mozilla PPA

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1846944] Re: Nextcloud client app indicator icon not visible in 19.10 Eoan Beta

2020-12-20 Thread Michael Weimann
Same problem here running Ubuntu 20.04.1.

> I think this is a Wayland related issue.

I am using X.org.

The workaround mentioned by Xianglong Kong does not work :/ I am using
the Nextcloud client, too but it already is in the startup applications
list.

TopIcons Plus works for me.

Present on current 20.04 dev release with vanilla GNOME.

While this bug doesn't affect any functionality is shows me every day a

Thanks for the fast response.

When the connection fails these lines show up:

NXDOMAIN, mitigating potential DNS violation DVE-2018-0001, retrying

> When you say 'disconnect' do you mean you software unmount it? or turn
off the server/disconect the cable?

Here I mean clicking the unmount button for the network connection in
nautilus.

> do you get the same issue using gio mount?

I hope I did it right (anonymized paths / user name):

gio mount smb://username@server.intern/share mountpoint

After a while it asks me for "Password required for share".
Then I have to enter domain and password.
After another while it asks the same question again.
Same journal output as above occurs:

2019-03-19 Thread Michael Weimann
I also have kind of that problem on Ubuntu 18.10.

I don't want to have sound. So I mute every device.
After a re boot the sound is turned back on again.

It's a laptop in a dock. The system detects multiple sound devices.
Internal speakers and dock output.

I observed the same behaviour as Adrian S..

Selecting Intel keeps the Nvidia card powered and the fan spinning.
Installing and using bbswitch manually works. I can't make it working powering
off the card at boot time :( Therefore I have to do it manually every time I
boot my notebook.

For me the power management isn't working, too.
The fan is always running and my notebook is getting hot.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 and installed the default nvidia driver 390.

My machine is an ASUS UX331UN with an nvidia mx150.

Currently my workaround is to install bbswitch and turn the nvidia
graphics on/off with that by hand :/

[Bug 1376258] Re: No way to notify a scope to refresh when the data has been updated (like events)

2016-02-28 Thread Michael Weimann
Okay, here are my thoughts about it. I can imagine two refresh
scenarios:

a) Background data changed (Tasks example from the bug description)
I think this point is clear. There should be a way.

b) Results fetched by a scope have an expiration date
Some concrete examples are: Exchange rates or stock quotes. As an user, I want
to see the current values. As a developer I may know the update times and set
an expiration date of five minutes for instance. When the user navigates to the
scope and the result is expired it should refresh without any required action
like "pull to refresh".

A more technical use case could be a scope that displays
application/hardware monitoring states. The backend monitoring reports a
system failure and the scope displays "everything fine", because I didn'
refresh it manually.

[Bug 1506704] Re: Thin font, nautilus doesn't integrate with Unity.

I can more or less reliable reproduce the problem when plugging in/off

[Bug 1066559] Re: Unity launcher shows bind mounts as devices

2012-10-15 Thread Michael Weimann
Removing them from the launcher works. They don't show up again, even
after a reboot.

[Bug 452049] Re: Gnome Places contains filesystems mounted via bind

2012-10-14 Thread Michael Weimann
Since the update to Ubuntu 12.10 beta this bug affects me. Under 12.04
the behavior was as expected: bind mounted directories were not shown as
devices.

[Bug 1066559] [NEW] Unity launcher shows bind mounts as devices

2012-10-14 Thread Michael Weimann
Public bug reported:

I have some bind mounts to use directories of a mounted hard drive for
the Music and Vidoes directories of my home directory. Since the
update to 12.10 beta, the bind mounts are shown as devices in the unity
launcher. Clicking them doesn't generate any response. I think the bind
mounts must not be displayed in the launcher.

Same here using the current 12.04 Beta.

Initialize scaling for all windows only shows the windows on the current
workspace.

[Bug 929425] Re: Background colour bright blue

2012-03-03 Thread Michael Weimann
Since updating to 12.04 yesterday my notifications are blue too. If I
change to the default ubuntu wallpaper the notifications are as usual.
When using this one delivered with 11.10
http://www.flickr.com/photos/vellender/6031920006/ the notifications are
blue.

[Bug 934062] Re: Keyboard Shortcuts overlay can cause annoyance

2012-03-03 Thread Michael Weimann
The shortcuts overlay is a pretty good thing. But it shouldn't trigger
if any other shortcut is used, e.g. super + shirt for workspace
switching. Perhaps the behavior could be added to the shortcuts overlay.
