Re: [Bug 149665] Re: when returning from suspend my laptop tries to hibernate
I have gnome-power-manager to shutdown the system when I press the power button. As far as I can tell, there is no setting that should cause the system to automatically hibernate, because you can't specify to do anything other than suspend (sleep) in gnome-power-manager. What I would like to know is why the option to choose suspend or hibernate when idle disappeared, but that is irrespective of this bug. :-) -- when returning from suspend my laptop tries to hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149665 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 149665] Re: when returning from suspend my laptop tries to hibernate
I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop which also will hibernate immediately after waking from suspend with Gutsy. I have gnome-power-manager set to sleep after 1 hour idle while on A/C power (20 minutes on battery). What happens is that my computer will suspend perfectly fine, but when I press the power button, the computer resumes, then immediately hibernates (to disk this time). When I press the power button, it boots up and resumes fine. I will note that previous versions of GNOME used to have a Sleep type option on the General tab to select suspend or hibernate, but that has gone missing even in Feisty. I have gnome-power-manager set to hibernate when the laptop lid is closed, but this hibernate immediately after waking from sleep happens without the lid being closed after suspending during idle. ** Attachment added: uname -a output http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9862571/uname-a.log -- when returning from suspend my laptop tries to hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149665 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 149527] Re: .profile not sourced anymore
I think this is related to a bug with /etc/bash_completion. [Bug 115283] Re: random system freeze when desktop-effects activated
I'm seeing this same issue on a Dell Latitude D610 with the following video adapter: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M22 [Mobility Radeon X300] The freeze occurs randomly, but the common theme seems to be when a dialog box is being faded in on top of other windows. For instance, I've had it occur when selecting from the dropdown list of URLs in Firefox, and also when using Alt-Tab to switch among windows. As others have reported, some times the cursor will still responsd (always stuck with the pointing hand icon), other times nothing will respond. In both cases, Neither Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace, nor Ctrl-Alt-F1 switch out of X. I have gnome-power-manager set to power down when I press the power button, but that does not work either. I have to hold down the power button to reset the machine. -- random system freeze when desktop-effects activated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 147874] apt-get install core dumped
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt apt-get core dumps when trying to install a package. I just installed gutsy from the Sep 30, 2007 daily snapshot of the alternate install CD. FYI, this does not appear to be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/140739 the backtrace looks different, and the revision I am using is the one that supposedly fixes that problem.
