[Bug 990337] Re: BSNL USB Capitel EVDO not working after upgrade to 12.10

2012-05-02 Thread Nguyen Anh Minh
My USB 3g is Huawei E173 and I think I got the same problem.
It works on Xubuntu 11.10 but after I upgrade to 12.04 it stops working.

I think the problem is in the usb_modeswitch_dispatcher.

+void check_driver_bind (char* vid, char* pid)
+{
+  char *default_loader = MODPROBE;
+   char *loader = NULL, *id_file;
+   char *vendor_spec, *product_spec;
+   struct stat buf;
+   int i, x, status;
+   pipeline *p;
+   FILE *new_id_f;
+
+   x = lstat (default_loader, buf);
+   if (x != 0)
+   modeswitch_log ( %s not found, default_loader);
+   else
+   loader = strdup(default_loader);
+   modeswitch_log(Module loader is %s\n, loader);

I don't know much about C++ code but I tried to find the lstat command
but it doesn't exist.

If you got this bug, when you boot from USB, press F6 then edit the boot option:
#Remove this:
file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed
#Add these:
live-media-path=/casper/
ignore_uuid

#Full sample:
append boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz live-media-path=/casper/ quiet
splash ignore_uuid --

If you don't want to edit every time you boot from USB, you can edit this file
