Hello, newbie here,

I am unable to setup and use my HP Envy 5030 printer on my Lubuntu 20.04
system.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

I am trying to setup my printer via wifi.

1) I run hp-setup from the terminal.

2) I select the 'Wireless/802.11' option and click next.

3) I plug my printer in via usb cable and press next.

4) My printer is recognized and I press next.

5) An error dialog pops up saying "An I/O error occurred.
Please check the USB connection to your printer and try again.
(Device I/O error)". Moreover, the terminal displays a 'Channel write error'.
(please see the attached screenshot).

Please find attached the results of the hp-check.log file; it is worth
noting that a warning message is displayed in the file indicating that
Ubuntu 20.04 is not supported.

Regarding the Missing Required Dependencies via the hp-check.log file:
libcups2 - is installed.
python3-pyqt4 - has been replaced with python3-pyqt5
gtk2-engines-pixbuf - is installed.

I am able to set up the printer with hp-setup when selecting the USB
option. I am able to print but not scan.

I have previously installed the hplip package via the automatic
installer on the HP website (https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-
and-printing), but this didn't work either. Important to note that the
automatic installer does not support Ubuntu 20.04, so no surprise there.

Thank you in advance,

Owen

[Bug 1883886] [NEW] Print dialogue's height in Libreoffice Writer is too high to see and click buttons.

2020-06-17 Thread Owen Charles
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I have the bug that is denoted here
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/240651/print-dialogue-too-large-
to-select-ok-to-print/ and here
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127782#c67.

Essentially, the libreoffice writer print's dialog box is too high for
me to view and press the buttons with the mouse. A workaround is to just
press ENTER to print.

Please see the following screenshot for an example:
https://snipboard.io/vc1X0f.jpg

My information is as follows:

Results of lsb_release -rd

Description: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Release: 20.04

Results of apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer

libreoffice-writer:
  Installed: 1:6.4.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
  Candidate: 1:6.4.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 1:6.4.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 500

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 1:6.4.2-0ubuntu3 500

Just FYI in case it is necessary: I am using Lubuntu 20.04 LTS with LXQt.

Best regards,

Owen Charles
