[Bug 222349] Re: display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade
After installing the distribution upgrade resuming from suspend and hibernate works perfectly. Network manager refused to come back after suspending at first, but this may be tangential because it was also broken in all sorts of other ways and seems to have fixed itself. [Bug 260706] [NEW] some tif images fail to import (object reference not set to an instance of an object)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot I am using f-spot 0.4.3.1 on ubuntu 8.04. I have a bunch of tif images from a photo cd that I am trying to import. The jpg versions import just fine, but the tif versions give me the import error, object reference not set to an instance of an object. If I select skip the program continues happily importing more jpgs, but it will give me that error for every one of the tif files. Document viewer also has trouble with these files, but gthumb can open them just fine. I opened one of them in Gimp and re-saved as another tif file and that can be imported just fine, so it's something about the specific encoding that's not being supported, I think. I will attach both files. ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- some tif images fail to import (object reference not set to an instance of an object) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260706 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 222349] Re: display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade
I am still getting this in the 2.6.24-19-generic kernel (and all the ones since, of course, but not the one just prior to the 8.04 release). Is this being worked on? [Bug 222349] [NEW] display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade
Public bug reported: I just upgraded to 8.04. I am using a Dell Inspiron B130. Suspend has always worked, but turning the backlight back on after it has been turned off when the laptop lid closed has been buggy in other versions (Dapper, maybe?) When I close the laptop lid with the battery settings thingy set to suspend, it seems to suspend ok (light goes into blinky sleep mode), and opening it back up seems to wake it up from suspend ok (light goes back to solid mode, hard drive noises) but there is no display. This is not the same as this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi- support/+bug/180473 which still has a cursor. There is no cursor, no blinking screen, the screen is completely dark. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222349 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 222349] Re: display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade
Update: Just going into and out of suspend from the UI without closing the laptop lid works fine. It looks like the problem is that closing the laptop lid now also turns off the display, which I've never been able to come back from, in addition to going to suspend. -- display won't come back from suspend after 8.04 upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222349 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 23917] Re: gksudo GnomeUI Warning
I just did a clean install this evening and I've got this bug. Never seen it before on either of my computers, both of which run Ubuntu Feisty. It occurs only with gksu, so far as I've seen. I've got a clean install of 6.10 with all current updates, plus some gui configuration packages that I've been installing/removing (the gnome art one, pixmap, gnome splashscreen manager, all of which I've also removed) and the ntfs-3g package. -- gksudo GnomeUI Warning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/23917 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
