It looks like there are debug symbols being build, but the situation is a bit confusing. For 16.04 LTS, there's *-dbgsym on ddebs.ubuntu.com. [Bug 1879229] [NEW] pulseaudio/audio-playback are difficult to use
Public bug reported: In order for a snap to successfully connect to PulseAudio, the following needs to be done: 1) request and connect one of pulseaudio or audio-playback (mentioned for completeness) 2) add ${SNAP}/usr/lib/$SNAPCRAFT_ARCH_TRIPLET/pulseaudio to LD_LIBRARY_PATH 3) point libpulse at the pulseaudio socket, e.g., in a wrapper: papath="$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/../pulse/native" if [ ! -e "$papath" ]; then echo "Cannot not find '$papath'" exit 1 fi export PULSE_SERVER="unix:$papath" (I got this from tests/lib/snaps/test-snapd-pulseaudio/files/bin/pawrap in the snapd source, which seems to imply this is how it's designed to work.) Steps 2 and 3 seem like they should be handled by some part of the system, if not necessarily snapd, and not left to the snapper to discover for themselves. ** Affects: snapd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879229 Title: pulseaudio/audio-playback are difficult to use To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1879229/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1869261] [NEW] popups move to top left of window when opened
Public bug reported: When I open a popup selection menu or a drop-down menu from a legacy menu bar, it behaves oddly. First, it appears in about the right place. Then it jumps to the top- left of the owning window, and the items scroll off. I can navigate it with the keyboard and mouse and it's almost usable. When the popup is closed and I try to open it again, it refuses to appear until I quit the appliation and reopen it. Example 1: * open Settings * select Default Applications * click one of the options to pop up its menu * it may open in the right place, or immediately jump to the top left of the window * if it opened in place, attempts to interact cause it to jump to the top left of the window * close the popup, and it can't be opened again (at least not visibly) * close the app, reopen it, and the process can be repeated Example 2: * some apps with legacy embedded menu bars also behave weirdly, e.g. Quod Libet's menus will jump around similarly quite often, but not entirely consistently I assumed gnome-shell is responsible for positioning and rendering popups, but maybe this is a GTK+3 bug? [Bug 1860500] [NEW] consider disabling apt-secure's Label check in Ubuntu
Public bug reported: As of 1.5 (per apt-secure(8)) apt checks and warns if a repository's Label value changes. This probably makes sense for Debian, where folks may be tracking stable instead of buster, and will want to be warned when stable starts pointing somewhere else. However, Ubuntu doesn't have such repository aliases and, furthermore, for PPAs, the Label value is populated from the "display name" of the PPA. This means that a PPA owner, fixing what they may assume is a simple typo, will require their users to take action before they receive further updates from the PPA, which is less than ideal. Please consider disabling this check by default in Ubuntu, if only for PPAs. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860500 Title: consider disabling apt-secure's Label check in Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1860500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1848902] Re: haproxy in bionic can get stuck
To reproduce: apt install haproxy for x in {1..100}; do pkill -TERM -x haproxy ; sleep 0.1 ; done systemctl status haproxy Observe that the unit has failed due to exit-code: "Active: failed (Result: exit-code)" To test the fix: Repeat the steps above with the fixed package installed. Observe that although the unit may still have failed, it is not due to exit-code, e.g.: "Active: failed (Result: start-limit-hit)". If you perform upgrade testing, note that simply installing the fixed package seems to revive haproxy without needing systemctl reset-failed haproxy. Confirm this by checking systemctl status haproxy for "Active: active (running)" after the upgrade. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848902 Title: haproxy in bionic can get stuck To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1848902/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1831483] [NEW] metrics on pushed routes not applied
Public bug reported: We have a couple of VPN endpoints located in different places. These each provide access to a bunch of things located in both places. We decided that it would be a good idea to let people connect to both endpoints so that by adjusting the metrics on the pushed routes (we used 500 and 1000) our users would always use the shortest available path. This works great with vanilla openvpn, but when using network-manager- openvpn, the metrics are lost and instead "50" is used, which means that only one gateway is used. Ideally network-manager-openvpn would use the supplied metrics so that traffic is routed as intended. This seems to affect network-manager-openvpn in releases of Ubuntu up to 18.04 LTS, and possibly beyond. ** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: We have a couple of VPN endpoints located in different places. [Bug 1815910] Re: Apparmor blocks access to /dev/vhost-net
I tripped over this problem recently with an instance that needed its neutron port recreated. (Canonical employees can review this incident to understand its impact by looking for the leyak incident on 2018-09-26.) One configuration we've observed this is on bionic deployed by maas 2.3.4-6504-gac6a15b-0ubuntu1~16.04.1. We've also observed this on xenial machines deployed by 1.9.5+bzr4599-0ubuntu1~14.04.3 (the incident mentioned above). We inspected some other older machines that were also installed a few years ago by the same maas as installed the incident- affected machines, and they *do* have the partition bootable flag set, although it may be hard to work out exactly how they were installed and what versions of MAAS this was. ** Affects: maas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1801810 Title: MBR OS partition is not marked bootable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1801810/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1791572] Re: upcoming certificate expiry
Unless pollinate used to use --pinnedpubkey as well, it seems that including the server certificate would have had no effect, so entropy.ubuntu.com.pem was merely confusing not only in name but also in its contents, before r319 landed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791572 Title: upcoming certificate expiry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pollinate/+bug/1791572/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1791572] Re: upcoming certificate expiry
I could have sworn that pollinate pinned the entropy.ubuntu.com certificate itself, hence this bug, but it's clearly not currently included in the source package. Thanks for looking into this, and sorry for the noise!
