[Bug 1317263] Re: mtp-server crash when transferring music on #15

2014-07-09 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Broken for me on #119, flo, when I transfer from Ubuntu 14.04 using
nautilus.

Every time at 2.1 GB I get the following message in the mtp-server.log

MtpServer.cpp:439] got unsupported command UNKNOWN

Nautilus says nothing, it stays pending at 2.1 GB

After this I need to reconnect the cable to get MTP working again.

[Bug 1338652] [NEW] Not all browser tabs get into close mode

2014-07-07 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

I hold on the icon of a tab to enter close tab mode.
Now not all tabs get the red cross icon, those in view appears to get the cross
but when I scroll I see other that does not.
Clicking a tab that is missing the cross icon does not close but rather open
the tab, so it's not only a visual bug.

Also there is no obvious way to leave the close tab mode.
The only way I found is to leave the app or click the new tab button.

[Bug 1338659] [NEW] Media files are not recognized

2014-07-07 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Nexus 7, devel channel, flashed today

I've placed two files in the video folder, one mp4 and one mkv.

Launching the Media player give me a message about no video selected, I guess
it is because it expected the media file as an argument.
In the end I hope there will be a video picker launched.

Clicking on the file in the file manager does not launch the video
player.

[Bug 1338682] [NEW] Keyboard prevent bottom(and side) edge from being activated

2014-07-07 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

When the keyboard is visible the bottom edge can't be activated.
Similar the side edges can't be activated over the keyboard.

In the browser click on a text field, keyboard opens. Now you can't get

[Bug 1320313] [NEW] permission denied mkdir /root/.cache

2014-05-16 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Running as root:
# sudo ubuntu-emulator create u1

Creating u1 from ubuntu-touch/devel revision 28
Downloading...
Cannot download

 mkdir /root/.cache: permission denied

First I thought that it might be because /root was a symlink so I moved it away
and created a new /root dir
Same error

Then I ran mkdir /root/.cache
Followed by the same ubuntu-emulator create u1 which now reported:
...
Creating u1 from ubuntu-touch/devel revision 28

Cannot download
https://system-image.ubuntu.com/pool/ubuntu-af0e050fca683dd4b7747b616952745496ed8542cece16ca5e6d13f00886d2de.tar.xz:
 mkdir /root/.cache/ubuntuimages: permission denied

And the same for: mkdir /root/.cache/ubuntuimages/pool

Now the error message reads:
Cannot download
https://system-image.ubuntu.com/pool/ubuntu-af0e050fca683dd4b7747b616952745496ed8542cece16ca5e6d13f00886d2de.tar.xz:

[Bug 1320343] [NEW] building touch emulator from scratch

2014-05-16 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

I'm following the guide at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Emulator#Building_from_scratch

And all commands work fine up to
# lunch aosp_arm-userdebug
Both that and aosp_x86-userdebug cause the same error:

build/core/product_config.mk:234: *** Cannot locate config makefile for product
aosp_arm. Stop.
Device arm not found. Attempting to retrieve device repository from
phablet.ubuntu.com and then from CyanogenMod Github
(http://github.com/CyanogenMod).
Repository for arm not found in the CyanogenMod Github repository list. If this
is in error, you may need to manually add it to your
local_manifests/roomservice.xml.
build/core/product_config.mk:234: *** Cannot locate config makefile for product
aosp_arm. Stop.

** Don't have a product spec for: 'aosp_arm'
** Do you have the right repo manifest?

When I run the lunch command alone I get the following options:
Lunch menu... pick a combo:
 1. full-eng
 2. full_x86-eng
 3. vbox_x86-eng
 4. full_mips-eng
 5. mini_armv7a_neon-userdebug
 6. mini_armv7a-userdebug
 7. cm_goldfish-eng
 8. cm_goldfish-userdebug
 9. cm_goldfish-user
 10. mini_mips-userdebug
 11. mini_x86-userdebug
 12. full_panda-userdebug

Is there perhaps some more that needs to be done to make sure you got
the aosp option?

[Bug 1287594] [NEW] Import fail with error message about photo library not being writeable

2014-03-04 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

After importing from folder and using the option to copy the photos I
get the following dialog:

17 photos failed to import because the photo library folder was not
writable

Following a list of 17 paths pointing to where the images should have
been stored.

When closing the dialog noting is showing up, as if they failed to
import, which is what the dialog said.

However the photos were actually copied to the location the error dialog
claimed not to be writable.
Only the database was not updated.

The console show no error messages.

2012-08-05 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Release:12.04
libappindicator* 0.4.92-0 //Same for all

I'm running the code example at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopExperienceTeam/ApplicationIndicators#C.23_Example

I was expecting some indication in the top-right corner of the screen.
Looking through all the menus there I can't find anything new.

The application starts with the Hello world label but not AppIndicator presence.
I also listened to the ConnectionChanged event but it is never called,
connected is always false.

** Affects: libappindicator (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 965003] Re: dell mini 10v touchpad dragging stopped working

2012-05-23 Thread Peter Hultqvist
It appears the hardware buttons are disabled when there is no finger
touching the touchpad above the buttons.

This makes it impossible to middle click by pressing both left and right mouse
button at once.
I tried keeping a third finger on the touchpad as the workaround for left click
but it does not work for middle click.

[Bug 965003] Re: dell mini 10v touchpad dragging stopped working

2012-05-15 Thread Peter Hultqvist
I have experienced the same behavior as Rick described in comment #7.

Although minor I would still consider it a bug.
The reasoning is that a hardware button press should always register as a mouse
press event since it is intentional.

This specific hardware has been troublesome over time giving users the
habit of only pressing the button without touching the touchpad on
top, thus the fingernail click. But It can also be that you are leaning
your finger towards the edge and thus making a fingernail click a
natural rollover.

Anyway, as stated above, since it is a hardware button with tactile
feedback it should always register as a click.

[Bug 725174] [NEW] Wireless network stops sending traffic, requires restart of network manager

2011-02-25 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Between 3-5 times a day the wireless network on my notebook stops working.
There is no indication on the status-bar. All applications still believe they
have a connection but zero data is transmitted.

Running /etc/init.d/network-manager restart solves the problem each

[Bug 687749] [NEW] Paste clipboard contents into a file

2010-12-09 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Feature request:

When there is data in the clipboard it would be amazing if one could
paste that directly into a folder.

Example 1: I select a part of a website, copy it, go to any folder and paste it
there.
The final result would be a html file with complete headers but where the body
only contains the copied part.

Example 2: I make a screenshot, I already have the folder open where i
want it. I hit printscreen, choose copy to clipboard. Back at the open
folder I paste the image.

[Bug 682118] Re: No thumbnails are generated

2010-12-01 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Thank for confirming that thumbnails are not generated if missing, that is
basically what this entire bug is about.
I would suggest that thumbnail creation is triggered right where the missing
thumbnail error is generated, on demand. Anything at startup should be avoided
to prevent a slow startup.

Yes, as I wrote the log is from my current .shotwell folder since that
is where the problem occured. Running fresh as you suggested worked
without any problem/thumbnails got created.

Removing a thumbnail folder is usually considered a safe action. When I
first asked about this issue on askubuntu,
http://askubuntu.com/questions/15020/thumbnails-in-shotwell-are-all-gray
that is exactly the advice I got.

[Bug 682118] Re: No thumbnails are generated

2010-11-30 Thread Peter Hultqvist
For your convenience I ran.
LANG=C SHOTWELL_LOG=1 shotwell

The log is from my current .shotwell folder. I did also try to remove
.shotwell and run again, in both cases I got the same outcome:

Previously imported images with missing thumbnails are still missing.
When Importing new images the thumbnails get created.

From the log it appears that shotwell complains about missing thumbnail
files but no indication whether it tried to generate new ones, the
mentioned original images does exist as they also show in shotwell.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: shotwell

There is no images for thumbnails, only gray.

[Bug 559269] [NEW] Incomplete move of features from titlebar into the menubar

2010-04-09 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Quick:
Doubleclick on the menubar in Ubuntu 10.04 alpha does not work the same as in
the titlebar, no maximization.

Background:
With the Ubuntu 10.04 alpha the window and title bar are visually merged - Nice!
Along with this comes the features of moving a window by dragging in the
titlebar.

Bug:
However not all features of the titlebar are available in the menubar.

Repeat:
If I doubleclick on an area in the menubar which can be used to drag the window
I don't get the maximize effect.
Not sure about right clicking, might need to be checked as well.

[Bug 48860] Re: Also notified makes difficult to unsubscribe

2009-12-13 Thread Peter Hultqvist
Although the last comments on this bug solves the effects of the bug,
they do not solve the problem.

1. If the website knows that one is to be notified, shown in the Also
notified, it should also know why: subscribed to that bug, to the project or
to duplicates.
Place a unsubscribe link there to linking to the correct place for
unsubscribing.

2. The mail sent with each notification should contain reference to why it was
sent and how to stop it. This can be done by either:
- Text informing about the bug and instructions on how to unsubscribe
OR
- Link to the bug(present today) together with nr. 1 above.

This must be at least as simple so unsubscribe as to subscribe. And
consider that that you might not remember how you subscribed, it must be
even simpler.
