I have experienced the same behavior as Rick described in comment #7.

Although minor I would still consider it a bug.
The reasoning is that a hardware button press should always register as a mouse 
press event since it is intentional.

This specific hardware has been troublesome over time giving users the
habit of only pressing the button without "touching" the touchpad on
top, thus the fingernail click. But It can also be that you are leaning
your finger towards the edge and thus making a fingernail click a
natural rollover.

Anyway, as stated above, since it is a hardware button with tactile
feedback it should always register as a click.
