[Bug 1968604] Re: rtl8761b usb bluetooth doesn't work following reboot until unplug/replug
The firmware is NOT loaded correctly... the "bu" file is loaded instead of the "b" I used to have Ubuntu 21.10 and my Bluetooth USB dongle was loading rtl8761b_fw.bin. Last week I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 and since then I can not use my USB dongle, it connects my Sony headphones and immediately disconnects, connects, disconnects, ... Using sudo dmesg | grep Bluetooth, I saw [ 10.106036] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: examining hci_ver=0a hci_rev=000b lmp_ver=0a lmp_subver=8761 [ 10.107035] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: rom_version status=0 version=1 [ 10.107038] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_fw.bin [ 10.108050] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_config.bin [ 10.108170] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: cfg_sz 6, total sz 27814 So kernel 5.15 loads different firmware rtl8761bu instead of rtl8761b used by kernel 5.13 in Ubuntu 21.10. I guess this is a kernel bug. As a workaround I made symbolic links and now my Bluetooth USB dongle works fine: /lib/firmware/rtl_bt$ ls -al *8761* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Apr 10 06:32 rtl8761bu_config.bin -> rtl8761b_config.bin lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Apr 10 06:32 rtl8761bu_fw.bin -> rtl8761b_fw.bin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968604 Title: rtl8761b usb bluetooth doesn't work following reboot until unplug/replug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1968604/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I just received an patch yesterday on Live patch for Ubuntu 20.04.1, the kernel version in my Laptop is 5.8.0-38-generic, but still I am having this same bug from Ubuntu. [Bug 1491249] Re: Regression: Visual new email notification no longer working in 38.2.0
A fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.1 yesterday. Completely updated to the latest software. Configured mail accounts. Initially the thunderbird notification icon color and played a sound when a new mail arrived *and* thunderbird window is open. But there was no OSD notification. When the thunderbird window is closed, no new email notifications whatsoever (no sound, no color change and no OSD). Now it is not changing the color but playing the sound when thunderbird is kept open. I have calendar addon only, no other. My thunderbird version is 45.2.0. This is a strange behavior and poor integration into the DE. Disappointed to see after my switch from KDE to Unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1491249 Title: Regression: Visual new email notification no longer working in 38.2.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1491249/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1430625] Re: ACPI PCC probe failed.
I am on Kubuntu, with a hybrid Intel-NVIDIA card. I have upgraded recently from 14.04->14.10->15.04, all in immediate succession. Upgrade process went without a problem and I was able to use the computer for a few days. Then once this "ACPI PCC probe failed" message appeared, but the boot process went well. After another day or two, now this message appears and says "Welcome to emergency mode! After logging in type "journalctl -xb" to view system logs, ... ... .. .. ... bal bla blah, asking for root password. But I could not boot at all. [Bug 1333593] [NEW] Inserting a space should not make a clack sound (typewriter sounds enabled)
Public bug reported: Please correct me if I'm wrong, but typewriters do not usually produce that distinctive "clack" sound when inserting a space. It's a minor issue, but that little bit of detail would make this incredible application even better. =) In addition, when having reached the last 5 letters of a line, hearing that classic "bell" sound would be a great touch as well. ** Affects: focuswriter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1333593 Title: Inserting a space should not make a clack sound (typewriter sounds enabled) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/focuswriter/+bug/1333593/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1222249] Re: [Satellite S50D-A, IDT 92HD99BXX, Speaker, ATAPI] No sound at all
like Ron said, if I boot into CSM mode ( which I think is legacy bios), the sound works fine. I did that using a live usb. So seems to me this bug is more connected to the boot mode than the driver itself. maybe there is some command line parameter that we can set in grub default and get this fixed. By the way I booted using the secure mode on and off in the UEFI mode, both cases yielded no sound. However, with live usb I was able to get sound even with 3.9 kernel. I really do not want to go through installing the os again, please comment on this new information and let me know what I can do to mitigate the problem thanks ram -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149 Title: [Satellite S50D-A, IDT 92HD99BXX, Speaker, ATAPI] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/149/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1254087] [NEW] Request: Option to Use Whiskermenu as Desktop Menu
Public bug reported: Before anything, I have to admit I have no coding experience, so this might be difficult/ impossible to implement. It would be great to have the option of using Whiskermenu as a right- click desktop menu instead of the default XFCE one. As is, XFCE's default right click menu is quickly becoming outdated, and even the more minimalistic ones among us (the ones who don't want a panel) might want a more feature-rich desktop menu than the tree-style one. =) ** Affects: xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1254087 Title: Request: Option to Use Whiskermenu as Desktop Menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin/+bug/1254087/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1052033] Re: Cannot install libxml-simple-perl
This is 'solved' for me. i had same error with dependencies while installing 'shutter'. Then a few days later i upgraded xfce to 4.10 from its dev repo (http://www.webupd8.org/2012/05/install-xfce-410-in- xubuntu-1204.html) and the problem is solved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052033 Title: Cannot install libxml-simple-perl To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1052033/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 982771] Re: Scrolling stops working in GTK3 scrolled windows after some time
I use Kubuntu 12.04.1LTS, this implies Ubuntu12.04.1. xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version is 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise1. I confirm the bug. The trigger is hibernation/sleep for me. problem is reproducible. Bug freezes pointer. scroll, left & right button works. Only pointer doesn't move. If I connect an external mouse, it is functional. I tried moving pointer to all corners and tried to use synaptic touch pad, but result is same. It freezes mouse pointer. Relogin/reboot restores the functionality. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982771 Title: Scrolling stops working in GTK3 scrolled windows after some time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/982771/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
