[Bug 1794494] Re: SRU tracking bug for KDE's Plasma 5.12.7 for bionic
For the past couple of week I have had my desktop machine rolled back to stock 18.04 with these updates, and all seems stable and the fixes do as advertised. I have also done some additional verification snapshotting a VM, rolling that back and forward to test. So as a Kubuntu developer, I am +1 on shipping these. I will of course do my best to fix any unfound issues that such an update may cause on wider consumption. ** Tags removed: verification-needed verification-needed-bionic ** Tags added: verification-done verification-done-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1794494 Title: SRU tracking bug for KDE's Plasma 5.12.7 for bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluedevil/+bug/1794494/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1808186] Re: Switch from MySQL to mariadb breaks akonadi
Kubuntu still uses mysql by default for akoandi, and that is what the akonadi-backend-mysql still has as its 1st choice dependency. I note that on our current 18.04 daily iso and in a fairly stock installed system, there has been no change or upgrade does or would cause mariadb to replace mysql (just tried an apt-get dist-upgrade to test. My best guess so far is that some other package (not a kubuntu one) on your system changed dependency. ** Changed in: akonadi (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808186 Title: Switch from MySQL to mariadb breaks akonadi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/akonadi/+bug/1808186/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It is provided by the package libqt5dbus5 which IS installed. ~$ find / -name libQt5DBus.so.5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5DBus.so.5 (with lots of expected permission denied errors for /proc/ etc) $ dpkg -S libQt5DBus.so.5 libqt5dbus5:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5DBus.so.5.9.5 libqt5dbus5:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5DBus.so.5.9 libqt5dbus5:amd64: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5DBus.so.5 So all in all, I cannot find anything wrong in what gets installed. This makes sense as all the dependencies in the dep chain are hard Depends, not Recommends or Suggests, so they will get installed. [Bug 1801290] Re: Latte dock is not showing on startup and an error mesaage is appearing
0.8.75+git20181023.0746-0~ubuntu18.04~ppa1 is an experimental PPA package from upstream git, not an official package. For the record, if the issue is that latte cannot run with a stale qml cache in ~/.cache/lattedock/qmlcache/ then this is an upstream KDE issue that cannot be addressed in distro packaging. We can't and shouldn't act on any file in a user home when doing a package upgrade via sudo/admin. This should be fixed by KDE by having latte detect that it is being run for the first time by a user after a version upgrade, and at that point removing or modifying the cache with that user's privileges. ** Changed in: latte-dock (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1801290 Title: Latte dock is not showing on startup and an error mesaage is appearing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/latte-dock/+bug/1801290/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As LP: #1790613 pakagekit remains unfixed, this update crashes the packagekit daemon mid way through installing updates on Kubuntu. Discover/Updater uses packagekit. This will leave large numbers of Kubuntu users with a broken upgrade, requiring command line fixing with 'dpkg --configure -a' before any more updates or packages (using either apt directly or packagekit) can installed or seen to be available. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1790671 Title: /usr/lib/packagekit/packagekitd:11:std::__cxx11::basic_string:AptIntf::providesCodec:backend_what_provides_thread:pk_backend_job_thread_setup:g_thread_proxy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/1790671/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The reason is that the feature has not been built is due to the cmake requirement of: PackageKitQt5 (required version >= 0.9.5) erroneously resulting in the output that the requirement is not satisfied by packagekit-qt 1.0.1 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390599 While this is an error in packagekit-qt's cmake logic (I imagine) other KDE projects just use 'find_package(PackageKitQt5)' without any versioning, where < 0.9.5 is long depreciated so not an issue (if it ever was). ** Affects: kdenetwork-filesharing Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: kdenetwork-filesharing (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: kdenetwork-filesharing (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: kdenetwork-filesharing (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #390599 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390599 ** Also affects: kdenetwork-filesharing via https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390599 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: kdenetwork-filesharing (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: kdenetwork-filesharing (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1795398 Title: 'Install samba' option missing in sharing tab of Dolphin's folder properties To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdenetwork-filesharing/+bug/1795398/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1794494] [NEW] SRU tracking bug for KDE's Plasma 5.12.7 for bionic
Public bug reported: SRU tracking bug for KDE's Plasma 5.12.7 LTS for bionic Official release announcement by the KDE community: https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.12.7.php Complete changelog (excludes translation updates): https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.12.6-5.12.7-changelog.php [Impact] * Without this update, general users who are not inclined or able to add our backports/update ppa will not receive this bugfix release of the Plasma 5.12 LTS series * Providing this bugfix release via the official update pocket in the archive will ensure that the bugfixes here reach and benefit most of our users. This is particularly important for a Kubuntu and Plasma LTS release [Test Case] * General tests: - Does plasma desktop start as normal with no apparent regressions over 5.12.6? - General workflow - testers should carry out their normal tasks, using the plasma features they normally do, and test common subsystems such as audio, settings changes, compositing, desktop affects, suspend etc. * Specific tests: - Check the changelog: https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.12.6-5.12.7-changelog.php - Identify items with front/user facing changes capable of specific testing. e.g. "Fix scrollbars in LibreOffice." - Test the 'fixed' functionality. [Regression Potential] * These updates fix some obvious front facing issues, but also include some underlying code fixes. - e.g. changes for compilation under Qt versions we do not ship yet, code optimizations and fixes with less obvious explanation of impact in the changelog, * Fixes for obvious and testable bugs and regressions can also introduce unintended other regressions in either the feature/app being fixed, or desktop components or subsystems that interact with it. So it is important in these updates to consider: * General testing - does the desktop as a whole, and routine use of such work as previously with no obvious regressions over the previous release. * If there is say a fix for the audio applet to fix one issue, in addition to fixing that issue, do the other common features of that app still work as before, do the general audio settings still work? [Other Info] * Packages not listed in the upstream changelog either have a 0-diff or just translation updates, Those with translation updates have been included in this SRU. * However, we deliberately versioned depends and build depends, so that if accepting rebuilt small diff packages into the final release to the updates pocket is considered too much of a regression potential, or too difficult to validate, packages that have not introduced or require a dependency (internal or external) on 5.12.7 version, should be able to be abandoned from consideration and the SRU. ** Affects: plasma-desktop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1794494 Title: SRU tracking bug for KDE's Plasma 5.12.7 for bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/1794494/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1793876] Re: software-properties-qt/kde does not show in menus
** Description changed: Cosmic and Bionic Desktop file sets: NoDisplay=true resulting in no software sources menu entry in KDE menu. This was probably just about ok when Plasma Discover was able to launch - this via a menu item in it's options, but at least for Plasma 5.13 this - is currently broken, and Disover's built-in source selection has further - issues. Plus many users decide not to use Discover at all, and even - uninstall it altogether. + this via a menu item in its options, but at least for Plasma 5.13 this + is currently broken, and Discover's built-in source selection has + further issues. Plus many users decide not to use Discover at all, and + even uninstall it altogether. Not withstanding all that, it is just desirable that someone can just type "software" or "sources" in to the search box in Plasma's main menu and find the menu item/launcher for this and use software-properties without having to go a more complicated path. Solution is simply removing the "NoDisplay=true" line from the .desktop file -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1793876 Title: software-properties-qt/kde does not show in menus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-properties/+bug/1793876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1790934] Re: plasma-browser-integration fails to connect to native host
The readme /usr/share/doc/plasma-browser-integration/README.Debian gives an incorrect path to create a symlink to. i.e: /usr/share/plasma-browser-plugin/chrome/native-messaging- hosts/org.kde.plasma.browser_integration.json where that file is actually installed by the package to: /usr/share/plasma-browser-integration/chrome/native-messaging- hosts/org.kde.plasma.browser_integration.json So a user following the readme trustingly would not end up with a working setup for Chrome. We can fix this in Ubuntu, but should also be done in debian as well. ** Changed in: plasma-browser-integration (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1790934 Title: plasma-browser-integration fails to connect to native host To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-browser-integration/+bug/1790934/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
