[Bug 871650] Re: unable to enumerate USB device with BeagleBoard-xM
Using Oneiric [1] with Natty's MLO and u-boot.bin (as listed in comment 14), I still see the bug. I did it afterwards, because I also wanted to test the unmodified Oneiric release (which unexpectedly still showed the bug). Since it was suggested that Natty should work, I have now tested it [2], as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OmapNetbook (with the kernel update that is mentioned there). Robert, there's a chance that u-boot might also be the culprit, so can you also check using natty's x-loader and u-boot? Isn't that what I already did on Paolo's suggestion, see comments 9 and 10? [Bug 525643] Re: Grub2 detects Windows 7 when only Windows XP is installed
I had a similar, maybe related problem: I have installed three OSes in separate partitions in the following order: Windows XP, Windows 7 Ubuntu 10.04. Windows XP is on another hard disk as the other two. My problem was that Ubuntu's Grub2 detected my Windows XP as Windows 7 and could not boot it. (The real Windows 7 was detected correctly.) I noticed that booting the Windows XP directly (by removing the Win7+Ubuntu HDD) worked, and presented a WinXP/Win7 selection dialog. What had happened was that the installation of Windows 7 had added the abovementioned \bootmgr file and the \Boot directory to Windows XP. So my fix was to rename these items to bootmgr.bak and Boot.bak. Now grub-update correctly detected Windows XP and added drivemap -s (hd0) ${root} to its grub.cfg entry, which made it bootable and removed the Windows-internal superfluous WinXP/Win7 selection dialog. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525643 Title: Grub2 detects Windows 7 when only Windows XP is installed -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
