[Bug 1824164] [NEW] tuxpaint in fullscreen mode works incorrectly with two monitors connected

I have problem with scanner from Samsung multifunction device M2070 it worked with installed drivers from samsung site in ubuntu 16.04 after upgrade to 18.04 scanner is not recognized anymore. dumpef2s output attached when i booted into windows and then back to linux there was always additional checksum error in superblock. when i was booting only to linux then there were always errors i wrote in previous comments, but I don't remember exact numbers all this started because of damaged disk (hw problems), I had to buy new one and transfer what I could. i was using ext2fsd for years, but on partitions created years ago. it seems it doesn't like ones created with ubuntu 16.10. I already reported this problem to ext2fsd project When I identified that issue was related with ext2fsd I removed it from windows, reformatted ext4 partitions and restored data from this damaged disk again - now everything seems to work without any problem. I didn't tested with latest development release of Ubuntu But I tested with upstream kernels and found out that issue is fixed with v3.11.2-saucy/, but not fixed with v3.10.13-saucy/. accidentaly i found possible solution i have alx module inserted after every boot to make my network adapter work. i am not sure which exactly package is responsible for this, but most probably
its libmono-data2.0-cil
3) What you expected to happen
i expected to succesfully connect to database using odbc
4) What happened instead
i got incomplete error message about datasource name not found
all packages mentioned later came from lucid lynx beta 1 clean install +
last updates. only exception is freetds, which is compiled from cvs
version, because stable version from repository didn't worked for me
i created .freetds.conf which points to microsoft sql database on other
computer and verified with tsql that its correct, i can connect and
launch queries on it
then i created .odbc.ini and .odbcinst.ini which define datasource which
uses freetds driver and server definition from .freetds.conf, again i
confirmed using iodbctest that its correct, i can connect and work with
this datasource using connection string DSN=mssql;UID=xxx;PWD=yyy
now with mono i can't connect
first i got error about missing libodbc.so. it really doesn't exist in
/usr/lib, so i made symlink to /usr/lib/iodbc.so.2
since then i get error with incomplete error message: ERROR [IM002]
[iODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found and n
I tried various possibilities to define connection string - I tried
DSN=mssql;UID=xxx;PWD=yyy, mssql,
{Driver=TDS};SERVER=mssql;UID=xxx;PWD=yyy;DATABASE=zzz and some other
combinations of these, but error message is always the same
i copied compiled binary to windows and tried it there with odbc source,
it connected without any problem. because of fact that the same binary
works in windows and because i am 100% sure that odbc source is valid
and working i think problem must lay somewhere in mono itself
(especially when i consider its not even able to show full error
message)

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unixodbc i have working FreeDTS taken from repository of Ubuntu 9.10 using its tool called tsql I can connect to Microsoft SQL Server which runs on other machine and use it without any problem (running queries) then i made it work with iODBC, again when i used iodbctest everything worked as it should however openoffice doesn't use iODBC but unixodbc. and there are problems. after i created odbc source for unixodbc everything seems to be fine, only most of queries don't return any data. this happens from OpenOffice database and also using isql for example when i launch query 'select count(*) from sometable' i get correct result, but when i launch 'select * from sometable' I get empty resultset. it may be interesting that same problem i have when i use any qt application. qt available in ubuntu 9.10 is linked against libiodbc, not unixodbc, so may be that problem lies somewhere in FreeTDS too, i simply don't know where exactly to look. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unixodbc i have working FreeDTS taken from repository of Ubuntu 9.10 using its tool called tsql I can connect to Microsoft SQL Server which runs on other machine and use it without any problem (running queries) then i made it work with iODBC, again when i used iodbctest everything worked as it should however openoffice doesn't use iODBC but unixodbc. and there are problems. after i created odbc source for unixodbc everything seems to be fine, only most of queries don't return any data. this happens from OpenOffice database and also using isql for example when i launch query 'select count(*) from sometable' i get correct result, but when i launch 'select * from sometable' I get empty resultset. it may be interesting that same problem i have when i use any qt application. qt available in ubuntu 9.10 is linked against libiodbc, not unixodbc, so may be that problem lies somewhere in FreeTDS too, i simply don't know where exactly to look. i am not sure if my issue is related to this or not i had ubuntu 6.06 with no problem, this i upgraded to 6.10 and immediately to 7.04. both upgrades weren't problem-free, but i believe problems werent related to this (6.06-6.10 failed to upgrade some packages, which i didn't needed so i uninstalled them and then it worked, 6.10-7.04 changed /dev/hdax to UUID= and it mixed partitions so it used wrong partition to boot from or as / - i had ro rewrite everything in fstab and grub back to /dev/hdax notation. but it think none of this could influence keyboard...) i have 2 keyboard laytous, primary is Slovak QWERTZ, alternative is USA english (previous international). when i am switched to USA keboards and i try to write | or \, it writes ) and ň instead - which are symbols from slovak keyboard. i tried some other US keyboards and it seems this problem is on all of them but USA international with dead keys. unfortunately with this keyboard when i press or ' it does nothing but wait for another keypress so its not what i need (being programmer i need and ' work on simple press and not with space after it) unfortunately this computer which has problem is not one i have with me so i can't rwact immediately on possible queries, but if anyone else noticed such behavious i would like to know what can i do with it. thanks -- Keyboard map is wrong https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/19159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
