[Bug 419264] Re: Uses 100% CPU with latest mesa/libdrm update

2009-09-07 Thread Shwan
Every time I went back from Suspend compiz went crazy , no with the kernel
above it is working normal.
I have some other problem as in xournal if I hold mouse pointer on a button it
couldn't show the text about it and the hole screen just flickered as going on
and off very fast , now it is working normal , so the problem was bigger than
just some hangs.

2009-06-27 Thread Shwan
you can just stop NM by
sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop

and then everything should work , or maybe start it when you want again
by

[Bug 254840] Re: [intrepid] mouse and keyboard stop working under gdm and gnome

2008-10-11 Thread Shwan
xserver-xorg-input-all fixed it for me as well, I noticed that The last
upgrade before this problem did remove three xorg-input packages , I
can't find the log(didn't try so hard to) so can't say which ones.

 Bug description:
In some circumstances it appears possible for the 2.6.27-rc kernels to
corrupt the NVRAM used by some Intel network parts to store data such as MAC
 addresses.
This is limited to the new e1000e driver, and reports have only appeared from
users of 82566 and 82567 based LAN parts (ich8 and ich9) (to quote Intel).
The reports seem to be isolated to laptops, but it is not clear if this is
because desktop/server parts are not vulnerable, or if use cases simply
increase the chances of laptop users being hit.

Once this corruption has occurred, recovery may be possible via a BIOS
update, but may well require replacement of the hardware. Use of Intel's
IABUTIL.EXE is strongly discouraged, as it will worsen the problem to the
point where the network part will no longer appear on the PCI bus.

(this is a new description, the original one was based on too much guesswork.
Below are the URLs originally referenced)
(the driver i blacklisted in Ubuntu for 2.6.27-rc in the latest releases, so
if your network is not working, it doesn't have to be damaged, but just
disabled in order to prevent any accidents until this bug is solved, don't
 wary!)

2008-09-26 Thread Shwan
For you who have not functioning network card now, try start with
another kernel (older) min works booting by older one ( I have a lenovo
X61 tablet, and for you, who have a wiped eeprom , I guess it is
possible to get a EEPROM-dump from another computer with same lan card
and edit its MAC adress and flash it to the device, but how? you
just need to wait, some body will write a program for that!
