After an update last night X failed to start and after trying a few things to solve the problem, I decided to re-install Ubuntu. I ran the two tests and this is what happened: 1. I removed the driver line from xorg.conf and after logging out /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows that I am using the intel driver. Everything works as expected, no problems. 2. Public bug reported: I have Ubuntu Jaunty Alpha 3 on a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. After an update today, when left clicking: * in a text document some other selected text is pasted * on a link in firefox opens the link in a new tab * nautilus opens folders in new tabs too Selecting text using my touch-pad does not work either due to this.
