[Bug 2057687] Re: systemctl hibernate error: "Call to Hibernate failed: Invalid argument"
The issue seems to be that /sys/power/resume contains 0:0, rather than the major:minor of the hibernate device. If I manually populate /sys/power/resume, then I can "systemctl hibernate" successfully and successfully resume. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2057687 Title: systemctl hibernate error: "Call to Hibernate failed: Invalid argument" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/2057687/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1672064] Re: Blank screen after switching to gdm display manager
I did not. Installing that package does allow gdm to start up correctly. [Bug 1672064] [NEW] Blank screen after switching to gdm display manager
Public bug reported: gdm fails to start due to Ubuntu customizations. Ubuntu has modified the behavior of gnome-session such that ubuntu.session is the default. When gdm launches gnome-session to start the greeter, this results in gnome-session trying to launch unity instead of gnome-shell. One workaround that I have proven works is to delete /usr/share/gnome- sessions/sessions/ubuntu.session with a symlink to gnome.session. This allows gdm to start up correctly and I can then login to a gnome-shell session. Another possible workaround would be to patch gdm to launch "gnome- session --session=gnome", similarly to how /usr/share/xsessions/gnome.desktop was patched. srwalter@brock:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.10 Release:16.10 ** Affects: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672064 Title: Blank screen after switching to gdm display manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1672064/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 86920] Re: 0.9.8 iPod writing not working in Feisty
I'm seeing this same problem as well. Looking at the debug output, the encoder does not seem to even be considering the lame element as a possibility. There are two possible reasons for this; either the profile's pipeline does not launch (I've verified that it does on my system with gst-launch) or the code can't find the encoder element in the pipeline. [Bug 86920] Re: 0.9.8 iPod writing not working in Feisty
I've been able to resolve this issue on my system. The problem for me was a gconf one. In /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/profiles, I had an entry for mp3. However, in /s/g/10/a/global, there is a profile_list key, and it did not have mp3 listed. Re: [Bug 86920] Re: 0.9.8 iPod writing not working in Feisty
Look at the pipeline_description for mp3 in gconf. When you have it, try running the command: $ gst-launch-0.10 fakesrc ! $DESCRIPTION ! fakesink Does the above command fail with an error, or simply sit until you Ctrl+C? For me, it starts up fine and runs until I type ctrl+c. [Bug 76077] Re: Permissions on /dev/usblp* don't agree with cupsys
I just ran into this problem as well. My USB printer wouldn't work, I noticed permission denied in the logs. I found something interesting in /etc/udev/rules.d/40-permissions.rules. Line 12 reads: SUBSYSTEMS==usb, GROUP=plugdev Obviously, this puts all USB devices in the plugdev group. Further down on line 37, though ,we see: SUBSYSTEM==usb, KERNEL==lp[0-9]*, GROUP=lp The intention, obviously, is that USB printers be given the group lp instead. However, this is not happening. This bug does not occur with at76c503a-0.13, which was recently released. I did a diff of Ubuntu's version and 0.13, and found two hunks, which applied, resolves the bug in Ubuntu's version. I'll try to attach said patch, I don't see a button for that yet... Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux- image-2.6'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
