[Bug 1947641] [NEW] warning missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/ in 5.11 kernel

2021-10-18 Thread TQ
Public bug reported:

I get a bunch of warning when install live-boot. looks like the linux-
firmware missing some of the intel video card driver. I see it happens
many times in different versions. A lot of people meet this issue. And
some people hack it by download it manually from some website. But I
don't like the way. I hope I can get some official solution because this
bug is not new. And I am working on a project to make a customized file
system. So I need it support AS More Firmware AS Possible and should
stable and security. So I need make sure there have an official solution
for this.

the following is the missing file and the kernel I am using. Hope it is
enough to identity the issue.

[Bug 480605] Re: Repeated subscription request from same user

2012-10-23 Thread TQ
This happens to me on 12.10, Empathy version 3.6.0.3.

In my case it's not a Yahoo account, but a Windows Live one.
Subscription requests seem to always come from different addresses, but
it's difficult to be sure since they are cryptic. I'm getting a few
requests per hour on average.

There should be a way to block this, because it completely defeats the
purpose of the messaging menu. I keep opening it when it flashes blue,
because I'm never sure if it's something important, or just another
annoying contact request.

@John_Swing: not really, since the gmail unity webapp (and the
associated messaging menu hook) is only active if you have gmail open in
a firefox tab.

[Bug 939258] Re: Messaging indicator not respecting blacklist

2012-03-22 Thread TQ
I still have this problem with indicator-messages 0.5.4.94-0ubuntu1:

tjgq@velma:~$ aptitude show indicator-messages | grep Version
Version: 0.5.94-0ubuntu1
tjgq@velma:~$ ls -l .config/indicators/messages/applications-blacklist/
total 4
lrwxrwxrwx 1 tjgq tjgq 55 Mar 21 23:40 thunderbird -
/usr/share/indicators/messages/applications/thunderbird
lrwxrwxrwx 1 tjgq tjgq 67 Mar 23 00:32 ubuntuone-control-panel -
/usr/share/indicators/messages/applications/ubuntuone-control-panel
lrwxrwxrwx 1 tjgq tjgq 49 Mar 23 00:36 xchat -
/usr/share/indicators/messages/applications/xchat

Yet Thunderbird, Ubuntu One and Xchat all appear in the indicator.

[Bug 375035] Re: closing the last window with the close button leaves its title displayed

I found out today that this bug manifests itself when running compiz,
but not when running metacity as the window manager. Still using an up-
to-date maverick.

[Bug 441941] Re: grub fails after running Windows

2009-11-09 Thread tq
I have a HP xw6200 and also cannot find a service in windows called
hpqwmiex.exe

I agree with John L In MY OPINION, this is so critical that 9.10 should
be withdrawn immediately and released as 9.11, 9.12 or whatever once the
bug is fixed. This will do irreprable harm to Ubuntu and possibly Linux
in general.

[Bug 445940] Re: Some text unreadable with Dust theme

Regarding skype, try running it with the --disable-clearlooks option.
Solves the problem for me, at least when using the Dust theme.
