[Bug 132271] Re: [GUTSY] cpu freq scaling not working anymore
Also it is pertinent to keep in mind that for many of us we do not have a bios update available, Gateway has never released a single update to my laptop's bios. Heck if I could update my bios I wouldn't consider this a bug! All it needs are a few more freq tables hard coded into the kernel, and they were working in Feisty. -- [GUTSY] cpu freq scaling not working anymore https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132271 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 152445] [Gusty] speedstep_centrino module not loading
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-14-generic For many releases Ubuntu has been one of the few distributions to ship a patched kernel for my laptop cpu: processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 13 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz stepping: 6 cpu MHz : 1700.000 cache size : 2048 KB fdiv_bug: no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug: no coma_bug: no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss tm pbe up est tm2 bogomips: 1191.56 clflush size: 64 This cpu requires the Dothan patchset to correct the cpu scaling tables. It was working fine with Fiesty but when I upgraded to Gusty the speedstep_centrino module refused to load stating device not found. So I tried a clean install of Gusty (Kubuntu) RC but the problem insued. I also then installed Fiesty and upgraded my system and retained the old kernel, when I boot into the fiesty kernel on my updated gusty install speedstep_centrino loads properly. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide! ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Gusty] speedstep_centrino module not loading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152445 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
