[Bug 1754294] Re: After last updated libcurl3 on libcurl4, some apps are removed.

2018-04-28 Thread Toomas
I have the same problem with Slack 3.1.1, R (r-core-base) and curl.
Either I have installed curl and r-core-base or Slack (also there were
problems with Spotify). If I install Slack which depends on libcurl3
then I have to remove curl and r-core-base. Very annoying.

[Bug 1624317] Re: systemd-resolved breaks VPN with split-horizon DNS

2017-03-17 Thread Toomas
I can confirm, that the issue with systemd-resolved is still very much
present on Ubuntu 16.10. If Forticlient runs (split horizon), then the
name resolution is very slow or nonexistent (timeouts).

It still doesn't work. The same problem is present on all platforms I'v

 Bug description:
   In LibreOffice Writer, when a toolbar is docked, icons on the toolbar
 that can't be shown due to limited space are grouped to be shown in a
 vertical menu triggered by pressing the more button (the button with
 on it). The bug is that these icons that have sub-menu(e.g. a color
 palette) shown in a vertical menu don't have arrows beside them to trigger
 their respective sub-menu. However, it is expected that icons that have
 sub-menu should have arrows beside them even if they are grouped in a
 vertical menu.
   Example:
   On Formatting menu, the Highlighting button should have an arrow
 beside it such that a color palette can be shown after pressing the arrow
 for users to choose the highlighting color. However, when this button is
 grouped in a vertical menu triggered by pressing the more button, the
 arrow is gone. As a result, users can't choose the highlighting color.
 Instead, users have to make the toolbar not docked such that the arrow
 appears again.

[Bug 1198283] Re: Huawei E3276 will not recognized correctly

2013-10-20 Thread Toomas
This Huawei 4G modem E3276 still doesn't work with Ubuntu. Now I
upgraded to 13.10 but still I'm not able to use it through network-
manager (0.9.8.0-0ubuntu22 ). Workaround script which was mentioned in
previous post (https://github.com/Janhouse/4g-connect-linux/blob/master
/huawei-4g-linux.pl) works fine. The biggest issue with the huawei-4g-
linux.pl script is that it doesn't appear in network-manger (it doesn't
see wwan0 interface and keeps telling that you are offline). This is
quite painful for all the apps that depend from it (e.g. OpenVPN doesn't
connect).

 NetworkManager attempts to keep an active network connection available at all
times. It is intended only for the desktop use-case, and is not
 intended for usage on servers. The point of NetworkManager is to make
networking configuration and setup as painless and automatic as
 possible. If using DHCP, NetworkManager is _intended_ to replace default
routes, obtain IP addresses from a DHCP server, and change
 nameservers whenever it sees fit.

 This is the client from version 3 of the Internet Software Consortium's
implementation of DHCP. For more information visit
 http://www.isc.org.

 Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol like BOOTP (actually
dhcpd includes much of the functionality of bootpd). It gives
 client machines leases for IP addresses and can automatically set their
network configuration. If your machine depends on DHCP (especially
 likely if it's a workstation on a large network, or a laptop, or attached to a
cable modem), keep this or another DHCP client installed.

[Bug 491835] Re: PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.9 Possible exploit using directory traversal

2009-12-03 Thread Toomas Vahtra
Using Zend Optimizer 3.3.3 as stated before
$ php --version
PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.9 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.6.2 (cli) (built: Nov 26 2009
13:59:08)
Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies

Here is the phpinfo() output

I'll try using the original php.ini from libapache2
-mod-php5 without using Zend optimizer

2009-12-03 Thread Toomas Vahtra
Ok, now I can't reproduce, with default php.ini.
So the problem seems to be with the php.ini that came with Zend Optimizer

I reproduced the same effect using webroot /var/www

file test.php:
?php
  if($_GET[pageID])
$pageID=$_GET[pageID];
  include('page.'.$pageID.'.inc');
?

http://myserver/test.php?pageID=/../../../etc/resolv.conf%00

filesystem is ext3 on a local harddrive

[Bug 491835] Re: PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.9 Possible exploit using directory traversal

2009-12-03 Thread Toomas Vahtra
zend optimizer version has
 magic_quotes_gpc = Off

that's the only difference, beside some Zend configuration

So when I turn magic quotas On, that problem disapeares.

Seems that it's not a bug, but just a configuration mistake.

Sorry for wasting your time and
thankyou for everything.

Just ran into this bug - latest patches as of this date, am not using
any xorg PPA's. Damn right annoying this is.
