[Bug 1509334] Re: [sru] plasma-nm blocks temporarily on startup w/o bluetooth device – KDE/Plasma very slow to launch (Kubuntu 15.10)
I am also seeing a long delay after entering my password. Long enough for clients to fail as I am unable to enter my KWallet password within their timeout period. I have tries "systemd-analyze", but that only seems to cover the boot process and not login. The headline from it is: Startup finished in 6.599s (kernel) + 8.008s (userspace) = 14.608s I sat with a stopwatch and manually timed things. >From cold-boot (including POST etc) it took 18 seconds to see the login screen. [Bug 697980] Re: float option not available in GUI
Seems this hasn't been addressed (tested on Kubuntu 14.10), but there is a small hack that can be used to set float. It is then not possible to resume (blank passwords or obvious possibles like "password", "guest" are no accepted) and the computer needs to be rebooted to gain access (losing any files and data that the guest might have in-use). [Bug 1325614] [NEW] Cannot unlock screen in KDE
Public bug reported: System Info: Description:Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release:14.04 Hardware: Lenovo THingpand T430 connected to an external Dell montior; using onboard Intel 4000 HD Configuration: widget-enabled screen locker, desktop effects (OpenGL 3.1). Expected: When screen locks (either through time-out or user request), clicking on the cashew in the top right should permit unlock. What happens: Nothing - it is not possible to unlock the screen. Viable workaround: None. It might be that using "xrandr" for effects doesn't cause the issue, but I haven't had time to fully test. The only option is to force a shutdown and then start, losing all data in open applications. Reboot does not seem to work correctly when the screen can't be unlocked, hangs with black screen when it should show log-in screen. I am seeing the exact same issue with an OfficeJet 6500a Plus e710n-z on Ubuntu 12.10 using HPLIP 3.13.4 I fixed it by running "system-config-printer" from the CLI, deleting all instances of the printer (looks like the HPLIP may have created duplicates) and adding it back.
