[Bug 2057792] Re: Some Games are crashing linked to a vm_max_map_count too low
Hello Sebastien, I agree with you. The value 2147483642 is the value purposed by TKG kernel, but as mentioned in my report, if the value is > 200k well issues in game is over. I think, the fedora value is a good approach because we already have return of their experience, and there is no trouble linked about this value reported in the fedora side. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2057792 Title: Some Games are crashing linked to a vm_max_map_count too low To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2057792/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2057792] [NEW] Some Games are crashing linked to a vm_max_map_count too low
Public bug reported: Hello there, I submit this request to improve the gaming experience in ubuntu for all users. Today, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Citizen and few more games are crashing or just not starting because the vm_max_map_count is locked at 65530. If we change this value to a value > 20, all games are working well and there is no bug linked to maps. Some others distribution like Fedora or Pop OS, have already made the change few month before. It's time to Ubuntu to makes the change also. Thanks in advance for applying this request. [Bug 1934868] Re: Sound now longer works on hirsute after linux-firmware upgrade to 1.197.2
No, this is the sound from the headphone jack, not the monitor. I agree it's not immediately apparent how those commits could affect the sound. [Bug 1875594] Re: multipathd failed to get udev uid, add missing path
I wanted to point out that the solution in comment #22 to set disk.EnableUUID to true in the VMX file has perils to be aware of. This discussion surfaces them: https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-vSphere-Discussions/Why-is- disk-enableuuid-TRUE-not-the-default/td-p/518472 Mostly around cloning a VM, which is pretty common in virtualized environments. If the user does not update the UUID in the VM, backup software may think that the UUID has already been backed up and not backup a VM's data. Changing the UUID on a cloned VM can confuse the OS when booting, seeing it as a new disk. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875594 Title: multipathd failed to get udev uid, add missing path To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/1875594/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1838192] [NEW] X server segfaults immediately at startup
Public bug reported: This system was working perfectly 3 months ago. I turned it off and left it off until yesterday. When I came back to it and turned it on, it worked initially but then the nvidia video card (nvidia GeForce GT 630) decided to die. I replaced the video card with an nvidia GeForce GT 710 and hit this issue. The machine also has integrated Intel graphics which I am not using. The system boots fine, I see BIOS boot messages and linux kernel messages until X tries to start. After it does that, nothing is displayed on screen. If I try to switch to another VT with for example, I get no output then either. [Bug 1787857] Re: USB mouse cursor lags after random time of correct behaviour
I have the same issue. At the login screen, I select my user, enter the password, the mouse works fine at this point. Click on login, wait, screen comes up then at random, the mouse either works fine (about 1 time in 5) or it goes really really slow (4 times out of 5). Only way I'm working around it is to reboot (usually 5 times ish) till it decides to work. As a test manager by trade I would say this is a P3 at least not a P4, as it's definitely a functional issue not cosmetic, albeit with an untidy workaround (many reboots). I'm running 4.15.0-52-lowlatency #56-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 4 23:39:39 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I'll post contents of lshw and lspci, let me know if you need more. ** Attachment added: "lshw_and_lspci.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/1787857/+attachment/5272856/+files/lshw_and_lspci.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787857 Title: USB mouse cursor lags after random time of correct behaviour To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/1787857/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1689005] [NEW] No way of completely disabling the sensitive zone over buttons
Public bug reported: This bug is related to this question: https://askubuntu.com/questions/905348/really-disable-touchpad-over-the- button-region Currently, on my laptop, I found no way of completely disabling the sensitive region over buttons (both movement and touch). Which means that if I use two hands: one to move, and one to click, as soon as my "click hand" touch (without clicking) the sensitive region over the buttons of my touchpad while moving, the pointer stops and the touchpad switch to the two-finger mode. It would be very nice to have an option, to COMPLETELY disable the sensitive region over buttons as if they were physically distinct, like on olders touchpads. lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Release:16.04 Package version: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-hwe-16.04 1.8.3-1ubuntu1~16.04.1 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1689005 Title: No way of completely disabling the sensitive zone over buttons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1689005/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi again, There is finally a working patch for this hardware available at http://marc.info/?l=linux-inputm=138235576025208w=1 I tested it on my A512 and everything works fine. It looks like the patch was also tested on other hardware by Fedora testers and works fine (see http://marc.info/?l=linux-inputm=138253695519603w=1 ). It would be very nice to have this fix backported to ubuntu precise. [Bug 1229195] Re: Openconnect will not connect under Saucy -- openssl problem?
From the --dump-http output, it seems that the XML transaction is selecting incorrect tunnel-group and group-alias. I attempted to patch a --no-xmlpost option into network-manager- openconnect, but in the process I figured out a strange workaround... I am currently instructing my Ubuntu 13.10 users to press the 'connect' button in network-manager-openconnect TWICE RAPIDLY. For some reason, after the SSL socket is closed unexpectedly during the first connection attempt, the second attempt doesn't use XML Post, and authentication succeeds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1229195 Title: Openconnect will not connect under Saucy -- openssl problem?
