[Bug 1846665] Re: Please include 'fcitx-table-cangjie3' by default in Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio
When I install Xubuntu or Ubuntu Studio and select 'Chinese (Traditional)' during installation, fcitx is installed automatically and used as the default IME. For a user looking for ready-to-use media production suite, Ubuntu Studio is the most natural choice. (BTW, Ubuntu Kylin is targeted for Mainland China which uses Simplified Chinese, instead of locales that uses Traditional Chinese such as Hong Kong and Taiwan.) And input method is the MOST BASIC feature of an OS; one shouldn't REQUIRE an user to know the package name and run a command in a terminal just to input his native language. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846665 Title: Please include 'fcitx-table-cangjie3' by default in Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fcitx-table-extra/+bug/1846665/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: [needs-packaging] fcitx-table-cangjie3 URL: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fcitx Please include 'fcitx-table-cangjie3' package by default in the Ubuntu derivative that is using Fcitx as the default input method (i.e. Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio), or at least when the user select 'Chinese (Traditional)' during installation. [Bug 326207] [NEW] Wrong glyph
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ttf-arphic-uming I am using 8.10. The glyph for U+965D is wrong. The right-hand-side part should be “㚒”(大 + two “入”). Now it's “夾”(大 + two “人”), which is another character encoded at U+965C. One may test it here: http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E9%99%95%E8%A5%BF%E7%9C%81variant =zh-hk ** Affects: ttf-arphic-uming (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wrong glyph https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326207 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 43589] Re: [totem-gstreamer] wont play vcd for unknown reason
I fixed the problem this way (I am using Xubuntu 8.10 upgraded from 8.04): 1. Remove 'totem-gstreamer' and install 'totem-xine' 2. Go to Menu - Applications - Settings Manager - File Manager - Advanced - Volume Management - Configuire - Multimedia, under 'Video CDs/DVDs, change 'totem dvd:/' to 'totem vcd:/' (without the quote. I tried the gconf-editor but can't find the volume_management tag) 3. Now insert a VCD, totem launches automatically and starts playing! The bad news is that totem will complain when inserting DVD now. The two media type should have different handler. -- [totem-gstreamer] wont play vcd for unknown reason https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 121150] Wrong locale setting when choose Hong Kong as the location
Public bug reported: 1. Get a 7.04 Ubuntu desktop CD. 2. Boot into English (i.e. change nothing and press enter to boot) 3. Run the desktop installer, choose Chinese (Traditional) as the language 4. Choose 'Hong Kong' as the location 5. The installer change to simplified Chinese. It should be traditional Chinese 6. Complete the installation, reboot. The login screen and all texts after login use simplified Chinese, which should be Chinese (Hong Kong). Chinese (Hong Kong) is a valid locale within Ubuntu. 7. Run a program with no native translation in Ubuntu, such as Firefox, the texts use simplified Chinese, which should fallback to traditional Chinese. This bug should have been reported before, but I can't find it. Thank you. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Wrong locale setting when choose Hong Kong as the location https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
