[Bug 2067078] [NEW] Translation: Presence of % in strings confuses Launchpad
Public bug reported: There are some "%" in the strings to be translated that are confused as macros, generating an error when the translation is saved. Check for instance the following string: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/noble/+source/snapd/+pots/snappy/ca/+translate?batch=10=all=%25+o In the sixth paragraph, there is: ... it to 50% means that the quota group... ... and "% m" is interpreted as a macro, if it is not translated with a word starting with "m" after this %, the string is not saved and Launchpad says that the macros don't coincide. Something should be done because it is not always possible to find a matching word starting with "m" in another language, and this is not actually a macro. [Bug 1763748] Re: Integrated Webcam Realtek Integrated_Webcam_HD (0bda:58f4) not working in DELL XPS 13 9370 with firmware 1.50
More comments coming from DELL: "Yesterday, a new Dell internal document was created which contained a temporary work around to downgrade the camera firmware to 1.0 ( the file RomainDurritcague shared ). This internal document is about to be deleted as this fix wasn't meant to be shared yet. The document was released prematurely. I've asked RomainDurritcague to delete the post which contains the file in question. The firmware downgrade is a downgrade in features. We don't like to downgrade our customers. Dell is working to release an OS patch that will allow Ubuntu owners to utilize the camera with UVC 1.50. The patch is scheduled to be released on 5/11. That's all the detail I have on the patch at this time. More to come. A solution has been proposed by Dell France: http://dl.free.fr/uYeYUDXjo Untar the archive and then go inside the folder, and you should be able to execute: sudo ./rts_uvc -v 0x0bda -p 0x58f4 --download 170606_6BF129N2_58F4_v7605.rfw It should say a huge "PASS" and after rebooting the camera should be working. [Bug 1717995] Re: extra domains not removed from resolv.conf when VPN disconnects
Same for me. I really don't understand how /etc/resolv.conf should be managed in Ubuntu 17.04. I have the setup described in comment #7. I tried to have only network-manager manage /etc/resolv.conf, but then I loose name resolution in containers. [Bug 1717995] Re: extra domains not removed from resolv.conf when VPN disconnects
I'm experiencing this same issue. A workaround that works for me is to remove my vpn domain from /etc/resolv.conf. The last line of this file looks as follows after a successful VPN connection: search Home myvpndomain where the last term is the domain of my vpn (vpn.bla.com). The workaround is to remove it and leave: search Home then restart the network-manager service and the VPN reconnects. Otherwise I have to restart the computer to be able to connect to the VPN after a successful connection. I mean: after a computer restart, VPN always connects, but if I disconnect I cannot reconnect to the VPN unless I restart the computer or do the workaround. I have a big confusion on how /etc/resolv.conf is managed nowadays in Ubuntu. I have at least three different system processes generating a resolv.conf. systemd-resolved: /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf network-manager: /run/NetworkManager/resolv.conf and resolvconf: /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf My actual /etc/resolv.conf is a symbolic link to this last one. At some point I tried to have only network-manager manage /etc/resolv.conf. Everything works fine, but when I connect to VPN it can't resolve any DNS outside of the private network. The resolv.conf generated by systemd-resolved has the same problem as the one generated by resolvconf, when the VPN reconnects the VPN domain is not removed from the "search" line. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717995 Title: extra domains not removed from resolv.conf when VPN disconnects To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1717995/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
